urgeok
02-21-2006, 06:31 AM
i actually dont feel that way about him ..
he's made some movies that i could have gone without seeing ...

his performance is solid ...but you always know what you're going to get ... ALWAYS.

Same goes for De niro and Pacino ..

i also think these 3 guys (who you would think should be on my list) have made films in the past that i didnt want to see - despite the fact that they were in them.

i cant say that - yet - about any of the actors athat are on my list..

i didnt care for Firefox, The Rookie, and Tightrope either ..

another example ..

i've had no desire to see Bridges of Madison County despite his participation.

Me too, but only because it came on Encore a couple days ago and I saw his name on the info page. Somewhere down the line I would've rented it or bought it real cheap.

But like I said(even though I think he's outstanding) I never see him and feel the need to make it to the theatre or the video store on release day.

On the other hand I guess it still counts because no matter how far down the line, wether I rush to the theatre or not ect. I still end up watching there movies because they're in it if for no other reason.

I'm REALLY diggin on the love Christian Bale is getting. Since American Psycho, he's been my second favorite actor next to Johnny Depp.

I'll add Uma to my list to go along with Milla. There are a lot of actresses I like, especially Nicole Kidman, but there's just a lot of movies most of them have been in that I wouldn't watch even though they are in it.

Charlize Theron comes close, too. If Kate Beckinsale would play a vampire wearing tight leather in every movie, she'd be right up there!:D

Well, it looks to me like not enough people know the John Ashley. He starred in a lot of beach party movies in the early 60's, and in the late 60's and early 70's he was a chick-loving, monster-fighting he-man in Filipino classics like...

"Mad Doctor of Blood Island"
"Beast of Blood"
and
"Brides of Blood"

He made fighting monsters cool and hip. Here's to John Ashley--he was Bruce Campbell BEFORE Bruce Campbell!

While there have been several actors mentioned whom I think are brilliant, I don't watch films based on them being part of it.

I loved Nicolas Cage when I first saw his performance in Vampire's Kiss (I think), Leaving Las Vegas, etc. But he's made plenty of questionable choices recently like Gone in 60 Seconds and National Treasure, just to name a few.

Have gotten over the "I'm definitely NOT going to miss this movie because - is in it!" phase.

But if I really had to name names...I can only think of two:

Vincent Price
Klaus Kinski

Vincent Price
Klaus Kinski Before I made my choices, I made sure that none of the people I mentioned were in movies that I simply would NOT watch, even though I really like some other people...

I love Geena Davis...I would watch (and have watched) Transylvania 6-5000, Beetlejuice, The Fly, Long Kiss Goodnight, and others like those that she was in...However, I would NEVER foster any desire to watch anything like Thelma And Louise, so I didn't mention her...

I DID however watch Menno's Mind and play the game 'Broken Helix' only because Bruce Campbell was in them, and I enjoyed them both...So, I figure I can trust him to be in things that I like:cool:

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not with the ones you have "who?" by, but I can answer three of them:

Scott Speedman - played Michael in the Underworld movies
Eliza Dushku - played Faith in Buffy TV series, was also in Wrong Turn
Rosario Dawson - Resident Evil

Wouldn't say that just yet. True it's been about 4 years since About Schmidt, but he's got a Scorsese movie coming this year or early next.
