This Is My First Post So I Don't Know If I'm Posting In The Right Place.

Fright Pack: Man's Worst Friends
Fright Pack 2 - Campy Classics

I Saw These Fright Packs On Amazon And I Was Thanking About Geting Two Of Them For My Birthday. They Are The Walking Dead & The Devil Made Me Do It.

Doese Anybody Have Any Thoughts On These.

these are the anchor bay fright packs ?

yeah they're a great mix ... I'd have gotten them all if i didnt already own 75% of the movies individually already

shit i dunno ...


over 600 on dvd..
another 150 or so on laserdisc...
and several hundreds on beta and vhs...


about 9000 movies all together ...but not all horror obviously..

I'd say you have a bit more than several hundred betas and VHS to go from 750 to 9,000...

my basement is lined with wall to wall shelving of VHS tapes floor to ceiling 3 deep ..

also - VCD & SVCD ... over 1000 of those ..

i was just talking horror ..re 750 on DVD and LD

i have over 2000 LDs and about 1300 DVDs but they all arent horror..

nah .. its cool and dry .. never had a problem in 20 years ..

i've been playing them lately and ones i taped 20 years ago are still good ..

(oxidization and stretching at the beggining if the reels on a few .. but thats impossible to help.

my tapes have had a longer shelf life than expected just by the virtue of how many i have .. (they sure dont get overplayed or mostreated ...)

Yeh thats the same woth me. The only ones that have got beaten are are ones I've lent to people.... which doesn't happen anymore!

You guys have those shitty covers over there too that don't really protect them much.

some years are a lot worse then that...

but they arent all bought ..
I was very fortunate enough to play volleyball with a guy who worked for a distributer. he gave me over 1000 tapes.

i played baseball with a guy who's business was recycling tapes.
he gave me about 2000.

where things got out of hand were the laserdiscs i was buying on EBAY and the DVDs i buy - mostly used.
i bought far more than 450 a year in the last couple of years ... which is why i've slowed to a crawl lately.

I'll be lucky to buy 4 a month now.

I had a few friends dump their vhs tapes on me when they completely switched to dvd, that's how I got about 500 of my old collection.

With my situation now I'm damn near buying anything I see.

I am sort of a bargain shopper myself, always looking around for a store getting rid of its old tapes cheap, etc. ...nothing like a cheap used tape...

Some movies I like to have good copies of, to keep, but a lot of movies I figure I'll only watch a couple of times for fun, and those are not so important.

When I decide that I probably won't watch one again or could use some space, I generally give it to the thrift store down the street.

the sad thing is - that's 1/6 of the wall space.

To be fair of the other walls ...1/2 wall is CDs/Tapes/audio-visual equipment,
and another wall is vinyl ...
