This is a tourney with a slight difference :) One that everyone can get involved in, because you, the members of HDC get to decide what movies are going to go up against each other! :)

The Criteria for the Tournament and each member’s entries is as follows:

- Choose one favorite film from each of the Eight following Genres:

1) Horror
2) Comedy
3) Action/Adventure
4) Martial Arts
5) Science Fiction
6) Drama
7) Western
8) Military

- Once chosen, post your eight choices in this thread, and I will collate the list for the tourneys. Once I have totaled up the films for each Genre, all Genres will be 'leveled' off by me, to the same amount of choices, as the Genre with the highest amount. I will not delete anyone’s choices, but merely add additional choices, based on what I think would be suitable.

- If any film gets chosen more than once, the member who listed that particular film/s first, can stay with that choice. The member/s that duplicated the choice, will be asked to choose another film in the particular category/s.

- If not enough entries for each genre is submitted (we have enough members here, so in theory we should do) I shall do one of either two choices to bump up the numbers

1: Let everyone who has already chosen a film in each genre, to choose a 2nd Film, so each member would have submitted 12 choices (2 for each genre) The same rule for film choice duplication, as above will apply.

or

2: As Tourney runner, I will choose extra films to bump up the numbers. I may have to do this if too many members choose too many similar films, from each genre. Or if any unforeseen problems arise.

- The submission date for all entries will be posted soon. Once the submission date has passed, there will be a period of a few days for me to gather the necessary film cover images, and organise the tourneys etc.

- A new thread will be started, upon Tourney commencement.

- If anyone wishes to make any suggestions, pm me, as I don't want this thread to become too cluttered.

Rules of the Tournaments

- There will be individual tourneys, for each of the eight genres listed above.

- Each tourney will run in succession, as listed above.

- To ascertain a winner, the total number of votes for each will be added. The film with the highest number wins 1st place. There will be three winners from each category: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Places.

- If film/s in any Genre receives the same number of votes, there will be a 'play-off' for the particular film/s at the end of each Genre Tourney, to determine which film takes either of the 3 winning places that remains unfilled.

- Once Three winners (1st, 2nd & 3rd place) have been found for each genre, then the 3 winning films across all eight genres, will go up against each other. This will give us a total of 24 Films for the final Tourney. To determine the Final winner, of the cross genre tourney, I will add the total number of votes.

- There will be two runners up places, 2nd & 3rd place, determined by the number of vote’s respectively.

So that we respect the current Tourney's being run by The_Return and Sam, I will not start this new set of tourneys until theirs have finished. Please do not hesitate to submit your entries though, as I will be listing them all in the mean time.

btw, if you don't understand any of the rules, just post eight choices, I'll be doing the rest ;)

That’s all for now folks. :)

Will come back to the drama when i think of a worthy candidate. Some of these films aren't my first choice but some of them had already been chosen.

btw I assume films which have been already picked but not in the same category will not have to be replaced?

I think I may drop the idea, of getting people to choose another film. Probably best to let them go with the original choice, as people share same tastes in films etc.
