First of all, BIG spoiler alert, if you haven't seen the film, and intend to, you're in the wrong thread.

I liked this movie...nothing against it whatsoever, but thinking about it around a week after viewing, I may have identified part of the plot that doesn't quite gel.

Ok, so...he dies, yes? In the final scene of the film, right after witnessing the reality he'd "set right" by paying his visit to the girls mother. I get that.
However, earlier in the film, when he was visiting the girl in the future 2007, he finds out he is found dead in 92.
I'm still with it.
But, he's found dead in 1992 "after" having "fixed" the girls reality, and making good of it all, right? 'cos he slips and falls, breaking his skull or whatever after his second last visit to the future.
So...the question is, why did the girl with the "sad" kinda reality tell him he died? How did she know? I mean, evidently he wouldn't have died unless he "fixed" her reality, which he hadn't done in that particular timeline.
Surely he wouldn't have died at exactly the same time and date in every possible reality, right?
I'm probably just nitpicking here...but is there any actual explanation here, or what?

It's been so damn long since I have seen this, so I may not be following you right....but didn't she always have the dog tags? So from those she knew his name and would have been able to find out if he had died like she did in the first "visit".
About him dying on the same date in every timeline, I can't really answer how that happened because, like I said, I haven't seen this in so long. I should probably just go out and buy it because it's a good movie, and now I feel like I need to see it again, haha. I tried answering this in about 4 different ways and had to change every response because I'm not making any sense of it either apparently.
