Very true. Movies are for when your date comes over, not for parties.

Here's a DVD for your party:
"42nd Street Forever" Volume 1
An excellent exploitation trailer tape with some wonderful stuff. I spent about 20 bucks on mine which is pricey for trailers, but this has a good assortment and it is worth it. From Synapse.
(Not all horror but all of it is weird and crazy. I promise you won't believe some of the things they've put in there!)

Id go with FvsJ. Probably fits with the typical crowd you'd have over [no offence]...it's high on action, low on thought.

I voted NOES, This remindes me of something I do once every month.
I have a horror night and alot of my friends look forward to it every month. Its an all night party. w/ lots wings/ and horror movies. The one I have coming up Im showing the following.
Audition
Donnie Darko
The Devils Rejects
Sin City
May
Dead And Breakfast
My parties usually have a theme like exploitation/gore, thriller, vampire, sci-fi.
Such fun.

for parties, you want something light. Unless it's one of those movie-nerd gatherings. But for a party, I'd say Shaun of the Dead

Freddy Vs. Jason is perfect because you can miss a lot of it but still see some good kills. Fun movie requiring no mental investment. In fact, liquor probably adds to the film too.

lol, i just put slashers, and or... other.. stuff
evil dead 2 would be a good one.
i think scream is best because it was a great movie, but not too scary that some people might not want to watch it.

If you wanna be a little classy and silly at the same time, there is always "Mad Monster Party." It is colorful and tends to put people in a festive mood. Good for a slightly older crowd or, perhaps, for extra-cool young people. Jazzy soundtrack....dig it the most!

Evil Dead is good for a "party", although if there was a "None of the above" button, I'd click it.
