Well I didn't see 1 yet and 3, 4 and 5 lol but I saw 2 this day, again for the 3th time, it's just so damn funny, like those zombies keep stepping on 1 zombie and the legs walking around alone without its upperhalf and more silly stuff, wonder where they got this from, well what I wanted to know is, 1,3,4 and 5 are they funny too? or more serious?

1 is better than 2 [ same humor ] , 3 goes in a whole different direction [ much less humor] ....haven't seen 4 or 5.

I didn't even know there was a 4th and 5th. (apparantly they are really bad)

I liked all three that I've seen a lot. The third one was actually my favorite, I don't know why so many people don't like it.

i know there are fans of #3 - the unconventional love story and all .. but at the time it came out i didnt like it - i should give it another look i guess. I still think i have it on Beta somewhere (dub)

#1 was one of the funniest horror films of all times ... so much gold. (split dogs, rabid weasles, 'send more paramedics')

but my all time favorite part :

************spoiler **********************

is when Clu shows up to help dispatch the 1st zombie - and has this plan that only includes the 2 guys - with him safely hiding around the corner ... but when they release the zombie from cold storage .. it runs straight to Clu ...
i know it isnt brilliant but for some reason i think it's one of the funniest things i've seen in a movie..

The second film is weak and pointless, save for one or two nice effects.

The third is one of the most exciting and satisfying recent horror movies (one of the last true rubber-gore movies to really make an impact).

Forget the idea of 4 & 5, but the first instalment is awesomely funny.

My opinion on the soundtrack....It wasnt really my style, but I gotta admit that it was some of the best used music ever. That Party Time song when the dead are rising...awesome!

GREAT movie.

Did you guys know the latest release of the DVD by MGM has a glow in the dark case? It's fucking awesome. I just discovered it a couple days ago, but hold it under a light and then flip the light off and the zombies glow.

It's great.

Unfortunately I didn't like any of the Return of The Living Dead films. As much as I try I just can't accept nifty zombies...

I thought it was a great horror/comedy. "Send more cops." Was it 1 or 2 where the detached zombie hand flips the bird?

Word. I love the Roky Erikson tune.

I really love the first film, didn't really like Part 2 (a bit to hokey for me - still worth a watch tho) and I thought Part 3 had some really cool shit in it. Looking foward to seeing the new sequels when they come out over here.

The severed zombie hand flipping the bird is in 2. They are all great except 4 and 5. They dont even belong on the series. They are the Halloween 3 of the RotLD series.

3 is the tits. Great acting and a great setup for some sequels, but they raped the series...

i met Linnea Quigley many years ago at a fango convention ...
She played the gal who stripped and was eaten by 'old men'

she was pretty cool .. she signed a big poster for me ...

looks like she's still steady in the films .. but they're all straight to video horseshit now.

I'd like to check out one of these conventions one day. We don't get shit like that over here. There's a sci-fi one once a year but no horror stuff :(

Show us a pic of the poster dude!

I hated 3 but for some reason most people dont.

Of the periods around significant shifts in current trends and audience demands regarding horror movies, it seems Return of the Living Dead 3 lands squarely in one of them.

It is the most logical explanation of the otherwise baffling unacceptance or misunderstanding of the film in modern horror cinema.

1993 was of course a couple of years before the post-modern revolution, but films like ROTLD3 and TCM4 were already dabbling in self-referential before everything had to be so clever and knowing to the teenyboppers.

i think for me - at the time - it was a steady progression away from the flavour of the 1st film....and i loved the 1st film.
I guess I wanted more of the same.

I just found my VHS copy of #3 .. it's a screener... i'll have to give it another go and try to view it on its own merits ..

The cheese factor is why I love horror films. I can't be fucked with all the seriousness of movies these days..... gimme murder, profanity and nudity! :p

beats watching Ron Howard films anyways

I have #1 on dvd and i love it, I have loved it since I was 4:p But when the laughs go away and people start dying it has a real serious feel, anyone agree? I mean the scene with Frank and Freddy dying and the scene right before Frank gets into the creamitorium, Am I the only one who thought it was disturbing? I mean they captured the suffering on film so well, I also cant forget at the end when Burt and Tina are in the attic you hear Freddy talking to her. Then right up at the end Freddy goes "Tinnnaaaaa!!!!" and pops up through the attic door, that scared the shit outta me.

i love the film to death .. but again the one thing that drove me nuts is the 'punk' look and the fact that this diverse group of people hung out together in a 'gang'
as if you'd really see that group of kids doing anything but beating the shit out of each other !

other than the holleywood bullshit misunderstood punk fashion choice ... the movie is mint ....

the only zombie movies i have seen are dawn of the dead (both), day of the dead, and the newer night of the living dead.

I love NOTLD, the isolation thing is what makes the movie scary, even though its somewhat corny. But the new Dawn of the Dead was scary to me, because the zombies were fast as hell. That would really suck tryin to fight a 1000 + zombies if they all stampede at you.
