Anyone seen this?? Peter Fonda, Warren Oates (Uncle Hulka) Loretta Swit and Lara Parker.

Was recently released on DVD, kind of a cult favorite IMO.

Saw it when I was a kid. Surprised that its never been shown on TV, at least not to my knowledge.

A must have for the Peter Fonda fan.

I wanted to mention that, a long time ago in 1986 or thereabouts, I met the director of RWTD, Jack Starrett. Usually I really don't think much of meeting anyone (a lot of movie people are stuck-up little bastards! but you didn't hear ME say that...). BUT, this guy was a genuinely kooky, crazy old dude with a lot of weird ideas.

At the time, he was planning to make a horror movie called "Satyr," which did not get made, as far as I know (he passed on in 1989). He wanted to play the evil title character and have a special costume made with goat hooves and the whole bit, like Torgo in "Manos"...He looked pretty old but had a lot of energy, and seemed real likeable.

i didnt mind the ending .. but a lot of critics panned the film because of it...

but if you know your 70's satanism conspiracy films ... NO-ONE ever gets away :)

Similar ending in Vanishing point.. Couldnt find a pic though.

Some of my fav chase/car films.

Vanishing Point
Race with the Devil
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry
Two Lane Blacktop
American Graffitti
Gone in 60 seconds( the original not that CGI crap)
Bullitt

Does anyone remember the remake of Vanishing Point on television??

I think the intention was to make it a series, at the last second he jumps from the Challenger when it crashes. My guess is it didnt reach a big enough audience.

Seems everyone is more interested in fast Hondas and Nissans than classic muscle like the Challenger, Super Bee and such.

Susan George has those dark smoky, creepy sort of eyes. Good for horror films. And as I recall she didn't do enough of them.

This is a guy's thread, I think. They should label this "Guy's Thread--No Females Aloud"

DITTO

It's a great flick especially for the older crowds
that were terrorized early on before the intentional
and unintentional humour that has become so rampant
in todays horror venue.

Great car chases and enough 70's nostalgia suspense and
grainy cinematography intensify this flick centering on two
couples frantic attempts to escape from local devil worshippers
while on vacation after witnessing a human sacrifice.

Highly recommend.
