I'm gonna lodge a complaint about number 25 though. All of the merry-go-rounds I've ever been on turn both ways.

10. Which way does water go down the drain, counter or clockwise?

10. Clockwise (north of the equator)

That's BS, it doesn't matter what side of the equator you're on. It can drain either way depending on a number of things.

I'm pretty sure that's not BS. It has to do with the Earth's gravitational pull, which is why it's opposite depending on which side of the equator you're on.

Obviously, there are ways to change the water flow in the opposite direction, but this isn't asking which way it flows after you set up a scientific experiment to change the flow of water.

P.S. - I got 15.

Well, regardless of the 'water turning' question, and the fact that the questions ARE more difficult for anyone who is NOT in America...I am happy to see that ALL of us here at Horror.Com scored above, if not FAR above the average person...Hmmm...I wonder if that means that horror fans pay closer attention to details than the average person...Or...Maybe we're just smarter...heh...*Is proud*:)

Well, this is what a lot of people think causes it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coriolis_effect

A popular misconception is that the Coriolis effect determines the direction in which bathtubs or toilets drain, and whether water always drains in one direction in the Northern Hemisphere, and in the other direction in the Southern Hemisphere. This was even mentioned in a Simpsons episode.

The Coriolis effect is a few orders of magnitude smaller than other random influences on drain direction, such as the geometry of the sink, toilet, or tub; whether it is flat or tilted; and the direction in which water was initially added to it. If one takes great care to create a flat circular pool of water with a small, smooth drain; to wait for eddies caused by filling it to die down; and to remove the drain from below (or otherwise remove it without introducing new eddies into the water) – then it is possible to observe the influence of the Coriolis effect in the direction of the resulting vortex. There is a good deal of misunderstanding on this point, as most people (including many scientists) do not realize how small the Coriolis effect is on small systems.1 This is less of a puzzle once one remembers that the earth revolves once per day but that a bathtub takes only minutes to drain. When the water is being drawn towards the plughole, the radius with which it is spinning around it decreases, so its rate of rotation increases from the low background level to a noticeable spin in order to conserve its angular momentum

Firstly, wikipedia is not a legitimate source of information as it is all user maintained and thereby prone to error. (Not that their definition looks wrong or anything, I just don't give wikipedia any credit because of it's fallability.)

Secondly, from what they are saying, in order to make the water go in a reverse direction, you would basically need to set up a science experiment, which wasn't what we were being asked. If you go flush any random toilet or fill any random sink in the northern hemisphere, it'll drain the same way.

BR's toilet drains clockwise, while ours drain counter clockwise. Explain that one, huh. :D
