I personaly like old misfits..but none of the new stuff...i think that they have goten to much credit....i mean they had it easy...the horror punk bands trying now have a much harder time.....plus The Misfits are everywhere now...& if not The Misfits its Danzig...i can say i point most of the problem at Hot Topic...The Misfits for awhile were just for the Fiends...now its Fiends, Mall Rats & everyone else.....

Is this just me or does it bug anyone else...i mean i could be totaly wrong about this..its just the way it looks to me

I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to AS "credit"...too much credit for being original? Definitely not. They started something pretty incredible.

And about the other...yes, it's all hot topics fault and I proved this point a few months ago. A friend brought a guy she was dating to my house, and he had on a Ramones shirt...so I decided to be and ass and say as I was playing Ramones, "Hey Aaron, do you know who this is?". Wanna guess what he said? Of course, "no". Why promote a band you have no clue who is? Lame.

I actually have no idea why people like The Misfits. I find them to be pretty talentless. Sure they created a genre, but anyone can do that.

I'm off to create necrobaby-core.

that person would never be allowed in my presence again.

and yes, the old Misfits were fucking awesome. but I, as well, don't know what you mean by credit. someone said, "sure ,they created a genre, but big deal." or some bullshit like that. yes, it's true anyone can create a genre. I can bang on my guitar and toot a kazoo at the same time and call it "britches" and then "britches" would be a genre I had created. no big deal, right? but, what if, all up on a sudden, there were about a million people banging on a guitar and playing kazoo? different story. I would deserve a lot of credit, not just for creating a genre of music, but created an entire "movement" (that word sounds gay as hell, but you know what I mean).

I agree that the old Misfits led by Danzig were awsome. But, you have to give credit to the band coming back with the traditional punk feel. Ok, so it's not as brutal as the old stuff, but at least their hearts are in the right place towards the genre. Some people will enjoy the new stuff, some will not. I for one will continue to collect all Misfits, because they are part of the icon and a fundimental part of punk history.
