I really like the 1978 thriller movie "Magic" starring Anthony Hopkins. I was curious to know what other people thought of it.

Tagline: Abracadabra, I sit on his knee. Presto, change-o, and now he's me! Hocus Pocus, we take her to bed. Magic is fun...we're dead.

Great movie and a great performance by Sir Anthony Hopkins.

It didn't hurt that Ann Margret flashed a boob:D

Great movie! scared the living crap out of me when i was little.

This is coming out on DVD april 26th in a special edition with remastered Uncut transfer and extras including the scary ads and Trailers that spooked kids back in 1978. Definitely one of my favorite horror movies, if you enjoyed this movie i recommend these similar movies you might enjoy:

"Child's Play". (Obvisously inspired by "Magic")
" Dolls".
" Pinocchio's Revenge".
" Puppet Master".
" Silence of the Lambs".
" Demonic Toys".
" Dolly Dearest".
" Making Contact ( a.k.a Joey)".
" Saw".
" Dummy".
" The Pit".

"Demonic Toys"? LOL That movie was dumb. And they made an even worse sequel "Dollman versus the Demonic Toys" which I only watched for like 10 minutes and changed the channel. lol@"Pinocchio's Revenge". Sounds like an Artisan or York film.

I've seen a bunch on that list but I may want to revisit a few like Puppetmaster. I collect horror dolls and one of my favourites is "Blade" (from Puppetmaster).

I can't wait for it to come out on dvd on April 26th. I've been trying to find it for awhile with no luck.

I'm not sure if the movie Ventriloquist has anything to do with Magic. I've honestly never heard of that one before.

A neat little psychological suspense film. Hopkins is both frightening and heartbreaking. When first released a lot of the critics praised Ann-Margaret for not playing her usual sex-kitten role. Good performances throughout.

i saw this at the theatre when it came out... and loved it...
for some reason the poem Hopkins wrote to Ann Margret stuck in my head.
