Did you feel sorry for the firefly's?

So I finally got to see the Devils Reject's last night..I know I know lame huh..Wow this was a great movie. I love how Rob turned the Firefly's into the victims and humanized them it was amazing, I actually felt sorry for them in the end, did anyone else feel this way?

They raped,tortured and killed over 75 people so I wouldn't say eating ice cream and getting chased by a cop who's flipped out warrents sympathy. When you think about all the shit they did I'd say they got off easy.

Having said that, while I didn't feel sorry for them, I did find myself cheering 'em on(for lack of a better phrase) the rest of the way following the scene in the truck.

Kind of. The emotion I felt wasn't so much sympathy.

I, unlike just about everyone else, hated that stupid cop. I didn't think he was funny, cool, or believable. Therefore, I would rather be on the Firefly family's side, amore connectable (in a sick way), fun, and lovable set of characters.

(Great movie, by the way).

I think TDR was a good example of characters not just being black or white. You know they are twisted individuals yet the end of the movie (to me) was a beautiful piece of movie making. They went out in a hail of gunfire reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde.

To answer another question - Otis was my favourite character.

I hated H1kC. I loved this film, howeve. I thought it was really well done. I hated that cop too, and I have a question, was he the same dude that played the little brother in Raising Arizona? Maybe it's just me, but he looked quite like him feature wise.

Sid Haig...I love myself some Sid Haig. He played in Jackie Brown too. Played the judge.

Anyway, Baby was ten times less obnoxious in this movie. She was still vile, but I didn't feel the urge to throttle her.

My ex best friend (maysherotinhell) is an EMS and had to scrape somebody off the road because they'd been hit by a Mac truck. From her description of the *gulp* body, I'd have to say that Zombie got it right. Very nasty.

In the end, as soon as they started playing "Freebird" ("Play some Skynyrd!"), I would wager that many of us knew what was coming next. I know I did.

Oh, I think I'm going to go watch H1kC again. Maybe I'll get into it a little better and make a better judgement.

The DR's... definitely a movie to add to my ol' collection.

Interesting. As americans, we cheer the underdogs. probabily sence we all started out that way,the founding of our country I mean. I loved both of the films, Rob inspired me to write my own horror movies. I instantly fell in love with 1000 corpses, I read in fangoria he did what he did to end it so their could be no 3rd one. He said if lion gate wanted to they was on their own he wanted no part in it. I love baby's laugh in the first one I thought it was sexy. Yes I felt sorry for the fireflys in the end but I knew what was coming, and my favorite would have to be of course OTIS !

When you round up a prisoner/detainee, you don't torture them. Oh Austin, I don't remember so much about him right at the moment.

I guess it was his right wing vigilante attitude too. As I've said, my bro is a cop, a good cop, if you can dig it. You've to be professional always. YOU have to obey the law if you're going to be the law, no matter how bad you think the system maybe.

He didn't seem to have much HONEST sympathy for the victims. Those scenes of him stapling pictures on to the fam wasn't out of remorse for those that were killed. I think he was trying to fuck with them (the fam) psychologicaly...maybe break 'em.

There's something else that bothered me, but I can't think of it right now. Hopefully it will come to me, and I can add more depth to an otherwise shallow post.
