spoiler warning!

What is everyone's favorite and scariest jump out sequence from a thriller movie?

Mine was in red eye, when they were in the girl's house near the end, and she looked for jack ripner for like 10 minutes, and then he sprung out from behind the door. i fell out of my seat in the theater because we were in the second row.

second favorite was probably (scariest)

in that stupid dead birds movie, when she was looking under the bed and the demon kid jumped out:eek:

My was Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.. AT the radio station when Leatherfaces brother was scraping his head walking toward the girl and they go past the door and then boom leatherface pops out with the saw....After that happen I would show it to anyone who didnt see the movie yet and they would jump from that scene also...It was real funny everytime...

As a rule, I dont "jump" moments. Cheap scares, IMO.

Dead Birds was AWESOME though....had some great jumps, plus with pretty creepy of it's merit.

The Forgotten had a couple good ones....massive spoilers to the story though.

i thought dead birds was boring
when the slave girl got sliced it was creepy, and i think the under the bed part was the scariest thing on the movie... but.. what is everyone's opinion on red eye? the whole movies sequences... well, ill make a thread on it.

Dead Birds- The under the bed sequence

Day of the Dead- Beginning dream sequence...with the hands...and the wall...wow

And the menu on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) DVD...when me and some buddies were kinda chilling while that was on, and then leatherface appears on the screen out of nowehere...and the damn menu STILL startles me every time.

Dead Birds was good. Some of it made no sense, but the suspense ws there. I watched it yesterday with my gf and her fingers were digging really hard into my arm. lol. I'm gonna have to go with dead birds, the kid under the bed scene.

The Ring closet scene.

Walking ghost scene in The Sentinel.

Chase scene in the rain in Freaks.

In agreement with Alky, the under the bed scene in Dead Birds... actually that whole montage of the demons.

a scary jump scene for me, was in The Others, when shes trying to open the door or something and she has the gun, and the door kept opening by its self, so she goes up to it and like opens and closes the door then BAM the door opens by itself and sends her flying.

i thought it was scary anyway lol.

another thing that scared me was at the end of Halloween Resurrection, when michaels eyes open

haha im easily scared.

ALSO, in freddy vs jason, when the girl, i cant remember her name so me and my mom just call her 'booby girl' (her boobs are way to big for her), is dreaming and shes walking on the side walk and freddy's head pops out! yeah i thought that was pretty frightening too!

haha, and as i continue,
i also thought the opening sequence in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer was quite jumpy, the whole confessional thing then him slamming his hook threw the wall. yeah creep to me.

AHHH! my favorite jump moment, would have to be in the re-make of the amityville horror. when the little boy is in the bathroom and the camera moves over to reveal a dead guy bleeding like crazy next to him. yeah scary stuff.

ok so im a wimp, so what!

There's 3-4 really good jumps in that. Not a bad movie, actually. I liked it.

it was pretty good, some decent action, suspense, nice flick. the people getting sucked up just made me laugh, but the one thing that scared me was when the guy yelled forget and his face got all warped.

Ginger Snaps Back, when she goes up to that little boy at night, and he whips around and bites her. That made me jump.

Masters of Horror ep2 -> Hand underneath Bed scene
Red Eye -> Behind Door scene
Red Dragon -> "The Eyes!" realization
The Ring -> Closet scene
White Noise -> Sudden Tv Ghost in Noise when Close scene

white noise when the radio turned on really loud on a silent morning made me flip out

1979 alien, when the guy was sealing the vents, and he wheels around and the alien is right there, and it schreeches at him. that's one of my all time favorites.

SPOILERS: (That come off the top of my head)
4. Final Destination.... Bus scene
3. The Thing..... you all know what part that I am talking about!
2. Dead Birds.... I know I wasnt the only one who slow mo their DVD player at that part to see the ghost! Great part.
1. Bourne Identity.... Not a horror movie but made me flinch the most from what I remember. The Broken Glass scene. This part had everyone jumping and made me flinch big time because it was so unexpected and loud.

old school :

- ALIEN - the alien face hugger jumping out of the pod onto John Hurts face ... the enture theatre jumped 2 feet.

- THE CHANGELING - the light fixture falling straight down at the camera

i never jumped again .. at anything since those 2 until :

- The Grudge. despite having seen the Japanese origional, i still jumped at the closet scene.

People knock the grudge all the time. My girlfriend said she didn't even find it scary. But in terms of actually being scared, The Grudge, 6th Sense, and Stir Or Echoes had me jumping left and right. The Grudge had alot of crazy jump scenes.

I've not read the whole thread so I don't know if anyone's mentioed The Woman in Black: if you've seen the film, you'll know it. If not, I won't spoil it. Not just a jump though; pure spine-crawling terror.

It takes a lot to scare me. I've seen most things. That though was like a waking nightmare and I've not seen anything that comes close.

Exorcist - can't remember what part exactly, but me and my chick went to the directors cut thingy...and there was a "tense" kinda scene, and then the phone rang.
The fucking phone...

The only other one I can think of right now is in resident evil apocalypse, when the skeleton model falls out towards Mike Epps...gives you a slight jump, and then he mouths off at it, something like "I see you mother...." and on the word fucker, the zombie behind the skeleton jumps out.
