Okay, here's my idea. It's kinda crazy, but.... well, but so are you.

"A deadly virus has killed 99% of the human population--forcing the survivors to flee beneath our planet's surface. This leaves the (other) animals topside, to rule the Earth once again. The scientists select James Cole, an imprisoned sociopath, to return to the past and gather information useful in the defense against this contagion. Once back in time, he is to investigate the mysterious 'Army of the Twelve Monkeys' and report his findings. Scientific, social, and political themes like time travel (and its inherent paradoxes and nested loops), mental illness, the nature of reality, animal rights, and the Armageddon-potential of unchecked technological advances are artfully and cleverly explored."

I call it... "The 99% Killing Virus".

Eh? EH?

Dammit ! I just threw out the receipt for the tin foil helmet I wear as protection to keep people from reading my innermost dumb thoughts and bad ideas. Apparently it's not working.

Zombies are rising from the grave all over the Eastern coast for reasons unknown (these are the old school shamblers there are tons of them but they're slow and stupid). On the West coast a military experiment gone wrong is causing people to hunger for flesh, they kill and move quickly but because they devour most of their victims they're not multiplying like the creatures on the East coast. There are a group of people on an abondoned military base in Montana, there are thirteen of them and now they're being assaulted from both sides, and two different types of monsters. The only good thing? These "things" seem to be fighting each other to get to them which just might buy them the time they need...

cool - i loved that film . . . in fact, i've loved every gilliam film (except Brothers Grimm, which by all accounts was largely re-edited by the studio )

it wasn't utterly devoid of entertainment - it just felt like a few small chunks of a Gilliam film mixed in with lots of hollywood schlock. . . . so it wasn't worth the price of admission for me - maybe a rental, on dollar day or something.
