Yeah, there's only one right answer. I might make the same thread later just because.

Marroe, this thread is a farce against mine. well derr...notice I said that?it's not like she was poking fun at the thread. Well, at least not then. I was talking about YOUR first response to HER first response.
Anyways, I made the point I wanted to and I'm not trying to argue about anything so thats that on that. Don't think every time I make an opinion about something I'm taking offense to it, I'm not...I just make sense:)
And to answer your question, no. Not if it were "for one last fling".

Yes.
I actually do have a boyfriend and I do love him otherwise I wouldn't waste my time with him. If we were about to get married and this happened, I probably wouldn't just because I wouldn't want to.. but as far as being able to live with myself I would definately be able to. Sex with a bachlorette party stripper is on the same level as masturbation with me, you're not cheating because you're having sex with nobody. If I found out about my fiance having sex with a stripper before our wedding it wouldn't bother me that much. Now if we're talking about cheating because one person is too much of a wuss to call it off, then I'd be pissed off for wasting my time. I'd rather have my boyfriend cheat on me then think about cheating on me. You can keep a bird from flying by breaking it's wings, but the desire is always there. I don't want to be divorced at 50, then again the married people I know how shitty lives so I don't even know if I want to get married.
Anyway in my mind it's not wrong because I wouldn't feel guilty about it. I probably wouldn't do it, but I won't say I definately wouldn't. If you're having sex with someone with no intention of continuing anything with them, it's not really cheating by my definition. Cheating to me is letting your bf/gf/wife /husband hang there while you don't love them anymore and you're looking elsewhere for love. Two things piss me off more than anything in the world, being ignored and having my time wasted. Doing both at the same time is a very bad idea.
I am in the definate minority here, I know. I've been in many, many discussions with friends about this subject. It might just seem like a way to sleep at night for being such a ultra mega slut, but I'm not, really. If this weird situation of my friends coaxing me to have sex with this hot stripper at my bachlorette party I thought I'd be honest and say I might possibly do it. I shouldn't have answered your question though. I could definately smell the bait, my defenses were down though.

i was raised to have a similar mentality.
Sex is Sex.
NOT LOVE
there is a HUGE difference. But wussy ass "moral" americans make up these STUPID ass rules, and people buy into them with their cheesy romantic comedy flicks and valentines day.
I love my gf with all my heart.
But sex is sex.
I tell her that all the time. She doesnt totally agree, and ive never cheated on her; but at the same time i have no fear in teling her how i feel. To me..sex with someone else (with no emotional connection, and just for the "fuck" of it) is equivalent to masterbation.
whats the difference if i watch porn and jerk off to the thought of a different woman?
NOTHING.
I hate how sex and love are made to be the same thing. Its so wrong.
ITS HUMAN NATURE. You cant try to hide it. And you shouldnt feel guilty.
I personally wouldnt be upset if my gf told me she wanted to haev sex with someone else. Id b totally kool with it. If thats how she feels. who am i to restrict her? Id much rather her go ..enjoy life..be happy and do what she wants.
cause at the end of the day, she'll still b at home with me..and in love with me for being her best freind..lover..and companion.
Talk is cheap, but i seriously think thats what i beleive.

Sex is all about connections, and to a lot of people the physical connection is somehow equal to the emotional connection. I can understand that, cuz if you fuck some stranger while you're in a relationship, its gonna be seen as you trying to make a connection with someone new due to a lack of a connection with your partner... when all you wanna do is just get your rocks off.
That's why swinger couples are cool... but they're always so ugly.

It wasn't really a lie. It was the cultural and social norms back then, people just didn't know how else to act. They all thought Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac were crazy cuz they made out with dudes and wrote poetry about drugs...

Throughout history extra-relationship affairs have always been seen as taboo, especially if, and y'all are going to jump on me, you're a woman. Allow me a chance to justify my assertion.
Harems...filled with wives...one husband. The guards were eunnuchs so that they couldn't have sex with the wives.
Concubines in Asia...same thing. Get caught sleeping with the Crown Prince's brother and it's off with her head.
Europe in the Middle Ages...royal and noble men were barely discreet with their cheating. A woman, however, had better be discreet if she took a lover. However, there were some women who could pull it off...namely Elizabeth1
In certain cultures in Africa, when a girl comes of age, her clit is cut off so that she won't cheat. It doesn't really make a shit if her husband cheats.
My point, I don't hold the same exact conceptions as Dolly, but I do completely respect what she said in this thread.
You guys, we've all got something to say. Let's not bring down the house for the, what?, third time this week.

Not to mention the fact that a man who cheats is almost accepted in a certain sense... and women are called whores. It's gotta suck to be a woman, seriously. The cultural standards just aren't in your favor. Those female mantis' sure do have it good though.

The mantis and the spider are two of my favorite little creatures, and they may weild the vagina over the animal kingdom. But they don't know what it's like to cuddle after copulation. "Afterglow" is a foreign experience.

its a good point - a good friend of mine got divorced a couple of years back because his wife cheated on him. . . and he told me that everytime someone asked why the split up and he said "infidelity" a) they always assumed it was him and b) when they found out it was his wife cheating they sort of acted like there was something wrong with him, like he wasn't MAN enough to keep his woman . . . its deeply sexist in both directions

I respect everyone's viewpoints concerning this subject...I guess I just can't wrap my head around how it wouldn't bother somebody if their significant other slept with somebody else.
The thought of my boyfriend sleeping with another woman disgusts me. In my opinion, masterbation and having sex with a person are COMPLETELY different. A hand and a...YOU KNOW WHAT are two different things ;) :p
I'm the type of person that gets really skeeved out just thinking about what kind of dieseases are out there. I would never put my BF at risk by sleeping with somebody else, so if he did that to me...it'd be done.
In my opinion, if you sleep with somebody else...you're not completely satisfied with the person you're with. This is JUST my opinion. Please don't scream at me, b/c like I said...I respect everyone else's thoughts...I'm just giving MY thoughts on the matter.:)
I feel that if you're going to make a committment to get married, then you need to be completely committed....otherwise, DON'T GET MARRIED.
I don't understand being in a relationship with somebody, and then having it be okay to sleep with another person. Why even be in a relationship then? If you want to sleep with multiple people, or can't be faithful...then just stay single. I suppose if your partner is okay with it...that's a different story...but if you know they're not, don't cheat on them and then tell them that "sex is sex"...b/c it's not like that for everyone....I guess the boundaries need to be talked about before any heartache is caused.
In the end, I guess whatever works for people works. I know what I wouldn't put up with, so I have my own opinions with regard to this matter...but what other people do is none of my business...it doesn't affect me, so I'm definately not judging.

Moonlit,
its not that "the person isnt doing it for you anymore".
its just human nature.
there is nothing wrong with wanting to feel someone else sexually. different bodies..different movements...its just something different.
Has nothing to do with your significant other not doing it for you.
I like pizza sicilian..and plain..since when do we have to only be satisfied with one thing?
im not saying i cheat. Never have.
but, i do think about other women, and i do think about how nice it would be to have sex with a different person.
Its just human nature. People deny it..but deep down...everyone at one point has an attraction to someone else besides their significant other.
And i bet that if you tell that person, that they can have sex with someone else..and they are 100% gauranteed, your gf/bf wont find out and wont get hurt....most people would do it.
because THATS where love comes in.
If you know it will hurt the person, and you love them. ITS NOT WORTH IT.
If you love that person, you will never want to hurt them.
BUT, if that person wont get hurt by your actions, its a different story. Its still YOUR life. Just because you dating , doesnt mean she OWNS you 100%. you can still have a little mystery and a little personal side. Same applies for the female.
My gf and I always say. We arent ONE life..we simply share our lives. People need to learn that.
damn - the pressure is on and i've never been good at pick-up lines . . .
"uhm, if i told you that you had a beautiful body - would you hold it against me?"
"wait, uh, no, i mean . . . i've got a really bitchin' car"
"wait, uhm, what i mean to say is . . . i've got pot!"
*damn, foiled again*
:D
i guess i'll rely on my usual strategy:
"PLEASE - PRETTY PLEASE - - - I SWEAR I WON'T TELL ANYONE!"

I definately see where you're coming from, and totally respect it. I don't deny that I've never THOUGHT about it...of course that's human nature...but it's just not in MY nature to ACT on it, you know?
Thinking somebody is attractive, and saying to yourself "I'd love to have sex with him/her" is normal...I'm sure it's crossed everyone's mind at least once or twice...and it doesn't bother me if my BF thought somebody else was attractive, or wondered what it would be like to sleep with somebody else.
However, if he actually acted on it....then I'd be extremely hurt, and I'd have to break up with him. Personally, I just couldn't deal with it....b/c sex IS emotional to ME, and it's something I only do when I'm committed and in a relationship. I like to be in monogamous relationships...if I wanted to experiment, I wouldn't commit to somebody...I'd get it out of my system before I settled down.
The thought of having sex outside of a relationship has just never interested me...like I said, it actually grosses me out ;) There is nothing wrong with thinking about it (unless it's constantly...then that definately seems like a problem), I guess I just have a problem ACTING on it...it would hurt my BF way too much, and since I love him, I wouldn't want to hurt him...especially not intentionally...therefore, since I wouldn't do it to him, I would expect he wouldn't do it to me. He knows where I stand, so he knows the consequences should he ever do it ;):p
You've definately make alot of sense though, and have made me think about this in a way I haven't before...and that's always a good thing.:)
Opinions are never wrong...that's definately something HDC has opened my eyes about...I know there have been times I've judged people on here in the past, but then after thinking about it...I've always felt badly about it. Discussions like these always remind me that there is no right way of thinking about things. Everyone's opinions are valid.
y'know this happens to me a lot -
about a year ago i was with a big group of people in a bar, one thing led to another and i was starting to get a little friendly with a young lady and then just as i thought things were going to get interesting she joined into a big argument about politics and the next thing i know she's shouting at some guy across the table and has forgotten all about my romantic advances - - -

Let me clarify my point, as well. I don't cheat, and I would not only break the skull of my then boyfriend if he cheated, I'd break that bitch's skull as well. I mean, I'd do it "my way." Just ask my ex boy and ex best friend...;) I'm a vendictive bloodsucking bitch when I get as mad as I got at them for screwing around.
Among others in the animal kingdom sex in fact does not equal love. Love comes from mammas to babies. The exception are grey wolves, red wolves, some other animals, and most humans. The reasons behind human sexuality are our intense emotions and our determination to create this creature called "morality."
Monogamy a pipe dream? In this day and age, that is quite possibly the case. However, in my gut I feel that it is wrong to take someone's love and devotion for and shit on it by sleeping with another person. For one thing, it puts you in danger when a person cheats on you. AIDS is still around and it still doesn't have a cure. Sure, you can live longer, but when it catches up with you, you still die a horrible death. (Read "And the Band Played On" by Randy Shiltz)
Another reason extra relationship sex is bad is it totally breaks the devotional connection. Let me put it in totally sexual terms: My pussy should be the best pussy on Earth, if it's not we don't need to be together. I'm not going to play sweetie to Mr. Happy if you're tapping some other puss. It's not fair. It's an insult to my parts.
I mean, no offense to you guys who don't totally treasure monogamy. That's cool. Everybody has their own view of things. However, I warn you that you're in the minority, and you could find yourself really lonely one day.
So, I've just tried to give two views in this crazy mixed up world. You don't have to really jive with what I'm saying, but look at the world around you with open eyes, because love is a pretty cool ocean to fall into. ("Drownin' in the sea of love. Where everyone would to drown." -Stevie Nicks)

I agree Haunted...
I think there's something very beautiful about two people being devoted only to each other...especially if you plan on bringing babies into the world...I feel like that's the most romantic thing you could ever do with somebody ( have a baby together), and I'm not about to share the father of my children with anybody else...I'm not going to share with or without children, actually ;)
Also...monogamy DOES exist...believe it or not, there are still people in this world who want to be committed and devoted to only one person.
I feel badly that alot of people are very jaded, and don't think it's possible anymore. If you find the right one, it is. I used to believe it wasn't, but that was b/c I was dating the wrong guys.
I feel extremely lucky to have found the person I'm going to spend the rest of my life with. I would never cheat on him, because there's nothing that he doesn't give me. I simply have no reason to cheat. There's no way in hell I'd ever find anyone better, and no amount of curiosity would ever make me risk what I have. I'd never give up a lifetime of happiness for one night with somebody else. I'd hate myself forever.
