Hi. My name is Mark LaFlamme. I'm a crime reporter, columnist and novelist from Lewiston, Maine. Hard to believe I'm just now stumbling on to this place. I'd love to hear from some other horror freaks from around the world. Check out my site and drop me a line if you're up for it. www.marklaflamme.com.
Thanks

Shhhhh! Don't say anything. He's probably some sort of investigator looking for someone. He's just going as a reporter as some kind of freaky disguise. And why did he call us freaks?

Ha! I said "horror freaks," with freaks being a good thing.
I'm really just lurking and hoping to come up with some good stuff for a column or for the website. No investigating going on here, man.

Oh, yeah. Lewiston, Maine is a straaaange place. You might recall that Stephen King is fascinated with the city. It's mentioned in many of his stories and this is where Kingdom Hospital was set. Mostly, we're a crack crazed city, with all the violence that goes with it. Lot of bodies turn up in strange places.

I second that!
I would love to hear some strange stories.
Like maybe...police baffled by bloodless corpse with strange wounds to the neck.
Or anything that could give a bit of credence to the supernatural?
Actually just give us a story, any story.

Ahhh, I'll have to go through my mental archives and come up with some of the stranger stories. You can find some of them on my website under "strange news" but I have a lot more to put up there. Right now, I'm working on a double homicide. Two men, shallow graves, blah blah. I don't see much supernatural about it, although the mother of one of the victims went to see a spiritualist and apparently, the medium re-enacted the killings in horrifying fashion. I'm waiting to see videotaped footage of the whole thing. It'll probably be more funny than anything else.

Welcome to wickedness. I tried your website link but it didn't work. I'll try again later.
I'm also a writer (horror included) and it just so happens I'm writing a mystery novel (among other things), and the lead guy is a crime reporter in San Diego. I'd also be interested in hearing your stories.
And I was in Maine last spring and visited Bangor, Bucksport and Lewiston. I had a blast.
