I was wondering how many of you have ever met or had a connection with a serial killer, or famous murderer. I offer my two entries:
1. My brother did construction work for Gacy. Never had a clue.
2. When I was in grammar school in Chicago, I was at my girlfriend's house and met her uncle, who was really one ugly man. He turned out to be Richard Speck and he went on his little rampage the next month.

actually when I was about 14 a bunch of my freinds and I swore my mom brought "the southside rapist" (Dennis Rabbit) to my house. She had picked some guy up at a stop light of all places, and brought him home to us. He looked just like Rabbit, and he freaked us out so much we all ganged up on him and made him leave. Later that night I got pissed at my mom so I sat on the front porch alone to get away from everyone, I look down a few houses and here this mother fucker is AGAIN walking thru the neigbors lawns towards me. I freaked out obviously and ran inside, told everyone what I saw and we all grabbed kitchen utensils and were gonna fuck him up with em, haha. He hung out outside hiding for a bit, then relaized he may get arrested I suppose and he took off. I'm still not postive it was Dennis Rabbit, but we're all pretty sure it was...still makes for a semi-fun memory...the would be attack with forks that is.

Those are both a little too close for comfort Sukie. The only thing close to those that I have to offer. I know a number of the kids involved in the Frankling Credit Union scandal in Omaha, NE. Google this it is a really bizzare true story of rape, murder, satanism, child abduction and pedophilia, and money theft leading all the way up to WA allegedly involving Pres Bush and son and some other high profile politicians and law enforcement agents.

I met a guy who tried to murder my mother. He's an alright guy, he kind of failed at the whole murder thing though.
As far as real serial killers go, I have never crossed paths with any. It would be cool to have a story about being on a bus with Charles Manson, serving Richard Ramirez at a restaurant or something though. :(

That would have got rid of some of that pesky excess testosterone. ;)

Guess I'll add this one, even tho it turned out not to be who I thought it was.
In 1983 I was in driving my husband's 1964 Corvette on the 91 highway (Yorba Linda, Cal) with my 3 month old baby. He had told me there was a problem with something and the firewall. While I was driving, I lost all electrical power and glided to the shoulder of the road, which was just a drop off. I put the hood up and was holding my baby trying not to fall off the hill when a tan volkswagon pulled over about 5 car lengths behind me. A man got out and stood there looking at me. I got a real bad feeling. Just then, a car pulled in front of mine and a bunch of old people got out to help me. The man in the volkswagon immediately got in and drove away. For years I thought I had a close call with Ted Bundy, then someone pointed out to me he was in prison in 1983. Nevertheless, I still think the volkswagon guy was going to be trouble.
Just as a funny PS to this story. When the old guy looked under my hood, it fell on his head and we all had to go to the ER. When I got home and phoned my husband who was out of town at the time about my horrible night, his first words were "you didn't leave the vette on the 91 did you?"

Although I never met a "famous Serial Killer" I have been around hundreds of murderers and one famous convict. I spent 14 years working in a maximum security prison and met Tony Koritsis (sp) the older members may remember him as the guy that wired a double barrelled shotgun around a bankers neck and duct taped his hand to the gun. parading him around infront of the news cameras for hours. He was housed in the Institutional Infirmary in a isolation room for years because he refused to submit to a physocological test. He actually was a nice guy to talk to, seemed very bright...albeit a bit on the "odd" side. A little guy always walking around holding his bad back with his hair always uncombed and sticking straightout like bozo the clown.
As far as murderers go, a couple of highlights were:
A guy that killed his daughter because she was unable to spell "butterfly".
A young guy (named Kamayadi) who, along with his sister, killed his mother and father, cut them up with an axe and stored the body parts in a chest freezer.
when my father worked in Iraq for a constuction company i lived with my family 4 years there
when the building was finished SADDAM came to open the building
and :D :D :D i was there as 6 years old boy
he gave me gentle hair touch with his hand :D :D :D
does it count????

I work at a supermax prison as a mental health therapist. I've worked with a hitman/serial killer who could dead lift (yes pun intended) close to 1000 lbs (claims over 35 kills -- I once asked him what it felt like to break someone's neck; I worked with the axe murderer of Denver; I've worked with a man who shot up a chucky cheese cause he got fired; I worked with a serial rapist murderer who never got caught for the murders; I worked with a guy who'd go out and kill prostitutes in then bury them in his backyard; I worked with a man who killed a 4 year old and then came to prison and killed a correctional officers; worked with several cop killers; I worked with a man who murdered several women throughout his life;
something interesting: with a few exceptions most murderers and serial killers look like real dorks who probably got laughed at alot in grade school -- which is probably part of the problem.
I also spent a year working with juvenile boys and worked with several that were serial rapists and at least one serial killer under the age of 18.
and here's the fun part -- since I'm a mental health worker I'm get to spend a lot of time interviewing these guys.

Only yesterday, my g/f and I were shopping in the local supermarket where we saw a man recently released from prison for murdering his wife and staging her death as suicide. He had left her body for their kids to find.
Disturbingly he was carrying a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates, both of us were praying he wasn't on a date or something.
