Im a dumbass I know

Anyway this is a story that happened today and i thought Id share it w/ you all because i figured you'd all like to make fun of me about it.

Anyway Im in this program at my school where i go to high school a half a day then a tech school the second half. I chose to go to tech school for culinary arts because thats what im intrested in. Anyway to the story... i was in the walk-in freezer getting some flower for this bread i was making and my one classmate comes in and is like "Sam, I dare you to touch your tongue to the pole" and i know that your tongue can stick to frozen poles because ive seen the movies (dumb and dumber, christmas story). But i decided i would anyway, i figured i would just touch my tongue to the pole and quickly pull it off. I was really really wrong. My tongue emmediantly stuck to the pole. I suddenly got really scarred and didnt know what to do, before i thought to get hot water my reaction was to grab ahold of it with my hand and peel it off. So i did so. what i didnt know was some of my tongue was still sticking to the pole. I didnt know untill my friend said sam you are bleeding like crazy. So im getting really freaked out now because if my instructor came and saw my frontside covered in blood he'd sure want to know whats going on. so i went to the bathroom and washed my face and gargled water. it wouldnt stop bleeding so i decided to salt the wound. which burned incredibly but it stopped the bleeding.

Now that its over i feel like a complete dumbass, and im actually kind of emberassed to go back to school tommorow cause im scarred of what everyone might think. but anyway thats what i did today.

By the way, a lot of people have wondered how they did that scene in "A Christmas Story"-- for years I thought they really did it for real! And poured warm water on the pole to loosen the tongue. But, they didn't:

They made a special pole which was rigged up with a suction device, like a vacuum cleaner. When they wanted to loosen the tongue, they just turned it off. Simple!! But so nicely done it had me guessing for a long time.

I never did that, but I did see my dog lick her chain for some odd reason on one of the coldest winter days. She got it free, and it bled a little, but she sure as hell learned her lesson. She never licked that chain again, be it in winter or summer. :D

lol it was a little funny because when i bleed i get weird espesially when im around people because i like to scare em. so i let my mouth fill with blood and id let it drain down my frontside, and id run my teeth on the top of my tongue and squeeze the blood out the front and it get all through my teeth and come out the side of my mouth. Everyone was so freaked out it was nuts.

I remember when I was really young, I took like the biggest knife we had and ran it across my hand. So much blood... My mother was throwing a party so it was the prefect time for that kind of stunt. :p

Got mine stuck on a fudgcicle once - problem didn't last long tho and it seemed more natural than dumbass. Yours was dumbass, but you recognize it and then had some fun with it. I bet it throbbed a lot that night when you tried to sleep. And, hey, thanks for sharing.

He should change his name to Tak. Kids at his new school will expect a guy named Tak to do stuff like lick poles in the winter, so he'll be safe :)
