Hello. If you could give me your brief opinion, it would be much appreciated. I’m writing a paper for my Philosophy class at UVM with the focus being Marilyn Monroe’s death…which is listed as a “suicide” but many believe to have been a cover-up. I’ve been doing a lot of research on the topic i.e. collecting books, articles (this month’s Playboy actually had a great in-depth look at the whole story, including transcripts written by her to her psychiatrist…as did the LA Times back in August) films, etc…but I also thought to ask specific people throughout the net about their thoughts on the case.
Hopefully this topic won’t lead to too much flaming etc. And please be nice to the newbie! Like I said, any info would be great.
Thanks and think snow!

You got to love the articles in Playboy! :D
My own opinion is that it was suicide. Anyone as high profile as she was, with the connections to powerful people as she had, will always attract conspiracy theories and such like. I have no specific reason for thinking this though just my initial gut feeling.

It was a cover -up.
She was in the best shape physically, she was in the middle of a movie shoot, and trying very hard to get there on time, even to the extent of hiring an assistant who's only job was to GET her to the set.
The rumours are true that sometimes she didn't even show up-this I blame on her party friends- Lawford and his gang.
I think she was raped at one of his parties and then threatened to turn(some nameless mob guy) into the police...and then she ends up soon after this a 'suicide'.
Doesn't add up to me.
