I just looked at the grocery list my roommate left up, and it reads:
"Toilet paper, garbage bags, hamburger meat, beer"
How depressing is it that all I do on an average day is eat, shit, and get drunk? Bah...
Not to try and get everybody on a down note, but what depresses y'all the most?

mine is more depressing ..
my sis passed away when my neice was only 4...my mother bought her up..shes now 14!
she treats my mum like shit..she gets everything on a silver platter from mother
n when we tell her off ..my mum sides with her..tells us ' ure always picking on steph'..
Last night i got home n all hell had broken loose...this little bitch had taken off n my mum was walking the road looking for her..11pm!!
when she was found she told my mother to fuck off..i ran up to the little cunt n smashed her one ..my mother went beserk at ME!!!!
Told mum..ure my mum..theres no way a little fuck is gonna disrespect u!!
this kid steals..lies..does the booze n drugs..n when she gets caught she blames other people..n my mum is like ..aw my poor baby..!!!!!
tHIS kid has a great life... her nana treats her like a queen...even serves her food ..
my mum is 65 yrs old.
When our kids argue with steph..my mum blasts the shit out of them...when steph steals..mum sez things like...well mebbe u shouldnt have left temptation laying around..bullshit like that.
I have them living with me so that i can take care of my my mum but its gettin to the point now ..i just want to chuck that girl in a home n send mum to a pensioners flat.
Mum gets 345$ a fortnight for pension...
200$ of that she gives to steph.
Mum bought her a pxt..she wanted another one 3 months late..my mum sold her wedding ring to buy it..!!now this little shit has 2 pxt phones..now she wants a video pxt..!!mum is sussing out ways to buy it.
i give up!!

When people hurt, but especially if I've done something to cause that hurt. Really especially with my mom.
Reading the paper and watching the nightly news......thats why i stay away from both.
So far it works......i'm pretty much never depressed.
Not that i don't keep informed.....i just heard something about O.J. Simpson being involved in his wife's murder.

Stubborn...seeme like your mother feels some kind of obligation to her dead sister, and/or feels sorry for the kid. Also seems like the kid is milking it for all it's worth. I bet she knows exactly how the situation is, and is pretty smug about the whole thing, right?
Your mother needs to toughen up, and the kid needs to settle down...the two should go nicely hand in hand...it's become too routine for her to put up with this kids shit, and she probably doesn't even realise it...the kid will though...
I get depressed when I think of my family of past and present, a lot of problems in a lot of places. I get depressed when I dwell on death, hear of animal cruelty, or find that a product I really like has been taken off the market.
Those are the main ones for me.

I agree with a lot of what Cheeba was saying. You mum does need to toughen up and say, "No, kid, you can't have that. It's obvious that your mum pities this child to the max. She's trying to play "mom." I think she wrongly assumes that this little girl is very fragile, which is very obviously not the case.
I don't know what to tell you or what to say. Have you tried talking to the little miss?
I do think that someone strong enough in your family needs to step up and say, "Okay, this has got to stop and now!"
This is only my opinion. I hope that things get better for your sake and especially for you mum's sake.

I have talked til em blue in the face.
I have praised her when she does good..i have scolded her when she does bad..
I treat her like shes one of my own
and nothing....total outright disrespect for anybody.
My brother and i have sat mother down and told her how it is n for a whole day (max)..mum agrees...then walla!!back to the same ole same ole.
She has other grandchildren who just hunger for her attention...
one of them just landed herself a top job working for the nz government ..right in parliment grounds...mothers reply was..
oh thats nice..stephs gonna be prime minister one day..
em like yeah ma....she wags school..she lies n steal..she'll make a hell of a politician.
We took that neice out to dinner to congratulate her ..before she headed off to wellington..I never invited steph...mum refused to come cos steph wasnt there.
I wish i could bitch slap my mother but ..LOL...she maybe old but she can still whop our asses..n besides..shes my mum.Whether she wants it or not..she still has our total loyalty n respect.
