I was on IMDB the other day and came across The Blob. I saw that there were three versions, the 1958 and 1988 versions of course and a new 2005 version. From all that is on IMDB it says the writting team of Carey and Chad Hayes are going to write it. They are the ones that brought us the 2005 version of House of Wax (cringes).

Why do they need to do another remake of this film. The original was classic and the 1988 version was fun.

I also read that Leigh Wanell and James Wan (co-writters of Saw) were approched to do this script but turned it down due to all the crappy remakes. Good for them!!

I dont mind them remaking this, nor did I mind the idea of remaking House of Wax, or the inevitable Fly remake. Hell, even The Thing. Why? Because they've been remade amazingly once, who says it cant happen again?

Worry not, with news of how awful the Miami Vice remake (ok, not the same, but still) is going, they might be less inclined to make the COUNTLESS ARRAY of remakes they've been doing...

I love that you included "Blair Witch" in your sig. Second most scariest movie I've ever seen and a true ingenius classic.

Is it really a remake though? I mean... Was there ever a Miami Vice movie to begin with or are the just adapting the show to the big screen (a la Starsky and Hutch)?

If there's already a real Miami Vice movie out there, I should probably check it out. I used to love that show when I was a little kid.
