Take a look at this http://www.anchorbay.co.uk/perl/search.pl?CO=ABD4430 . Pretty freakin' sweet but I'm in the U.S. I'm thinking about buying it anyway and was looking for some opinions.

Phantasm?? umph the first one was good....and scare me a lot...it was the first horror movie i saw. The second...not too bad, funny but no scary. Parts 3 & 4 pure shit
If I were you I buy other thing...and try to buy only the first one of Phantasm.(And of course beware the dvd are in european sistem PAL, not in US NTSC)

I have this sphere. tbh it's not all that good. It's plastic and feels cheap, rather like the hellraiser cube from AB. You also have to connect the spikes yourself. The discs aren't very secure in the foam insert either.
If you can find it cheap in the sales, then get it.

I asked about an R1 release and apparently due to liscensing it won't happen. That's why I was looking at this, thought it was metal though.

if it is pal format standard US dvd players will not play it.

I kinda gave up on recommending stuff to

I'd love to open a horror shop full of things that say "Buy at your own peril" Then whenever someone bought something I'd laugh maniacally behind the counter as they left. :p

The first one, the second one and every subsequent one after that. The Phantasm franchise is WAY worse than Leprechaun, Critters, or Puppet Master in my opinion. I hate it.

Ive only seen one scene from the first one, and it looked tight as hell. the shpere attached itself to this dudes head and shot a whole bunch of blood out a little hole.

Not only that, even if a Region 1 or 0 player could play PAL/SECAM DVD's, if it doesn't have a converter, you'll hear the sound and see a blank or distorted image on the screen. Something about the difference in the TV pixels, a built in converter would be needed to see the image properly. That, or buy a TV that's ( I think) "universal" or "multi-function".
