If there is a thread like this, I was unable to find it... Anyway, I am sure I am not the only one that spends Halloween in the dark with a stack of horror movies...
So what are you going to watch this year?
My boyfriend and I have decided on these movies:
Land of the Dead
Halloween 6
Dolls
Nightmare on Elm Street
High Tension
...and we plan to go see Saw 2 late that night.
YOUR TURN!!
Also, anyone seen the "Boo!" movie that is released on DVD this week? I've never heard of it...

Cool, that's the only way to watch horror movies. :) I rent a lot of horror films at this one place in town cause all horror movies are $0.25 each on Halloween. Thank God I came across the stinkers I was afraid to rent. I also realized that movies made by Dead Alive Productions, York Entertainment and Full Moon are movies in general to avoid. I'm also weary about movies that have almost no desciption of the film itself on the box.

I'm definitely not wasting my money watching "The Thing" even though I love that movie. The cable channel played the damn movie so many times that right now, I'm a little tired of seeing it. I try to get a hold of "horror deals" at video stores so I can rent movies I haven't seen for cheap and it's not so much of a kick in the ass if the movie sucks. People don't know how I can go through 8 to 10 videos in like 4 hours. Simple, if the movie isn't scary or creepy, I fast forward to look for headpounding gore. It needs at least one of the 3. If not, it gets tossed out, and crossed off my "collection list".

Re-Animator
Suspiria
Repulsion

Jacob's Ladder
and a lot more, still making the list. Haloween weekend, a bunch of horror flicks, lots of drinks, and some friends... WOOHOO.

I have to work on Halloween night.
But that doesn't mean I don't have movies to watch. So far, I've got my list down to The Changeling, Halloween, and Evil Dead. Maybe I'll throw in The Haunting if I'm not too tired.

yes, its because of commercials. they know who will watch and what to sell. and they think most of the young adults are out on halloween so whats the point of showing movies that old people and little kids wont watch and wont see their damn commercials. its all about money i tell ya! thats just my opinion LOL :D

lol Seeing how one of the local video stores has $0.25 horror rentals on the 31st, I need to take that day off so I can rent a whole lot of movies so I know what sucks and what doesn't for practically pocket change. If the movie does suck, it's not like I spent $3 per crappy movie. ;)

Oh yeah you get Halloween and The Excorcist and The Howling all October long and then on Halloween it's Garfield's Halloween, Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, and Dora The Exlporer celebrates the Day of the Dead. Oh well, DVDs are a great cure for that.

The Garfield Halloween special scared the crap outta me when I was a kid. The part with the old man by the Fire!!!!!! I still take a deep breath when i see it today.

Don't think Halloween is celebrated in Finland like it is in the US. But as I mentioned in another thread, there's an annual film festival called Night Visions, at the end of October. This year's highlight for me is the Corpse Bride.
Here's the line-up:
Exorcism of Emily Rose
Corpse Bride
The Descent
The Devil's Rejects
Domino
Demons
Supersonic Man
From Beyond
Pervert!
Linda Lovelace for President
I Spit On Your Grave
That's a four-hour trip by bus to Helsinki for an all-night film festival and another four hours back the following morning. :)

Here's one that didn't make sense to me. It's labeled as a horror movie, but there's nothing scary about it at all. "Habitat", and it seemed to revolve around heavy foliage and this kid's father that turned into some type of pollen lifeforce? What the hell is that?

I'd say you'll be up longer than that, considering Zombie alone is almost 4 hours long...

If there's alcohol involved, that had better be Vodka and Redbull to have a houseload of wide-awake drunks. :p
Damn, MiskatonicKitty. You've got some really good ones goin there. I wonder if Argento is ever gonna complete the trilogy? "Phenomena" AKA "Creepers" but you've got the unrated version. And ya gotta give em a plus for using real maggots. :D
As for myself, I'll be taking the 31st off to watch a lot of horror movies for 25 cents per so I don't have to spend an arm and a leg just in case the movies are crappy. :)

Silence of the Lambs
Freddie v. Jason

We must be talking about different movies....Zombie, as in Fulci's unofficial "sequel" to Dawn of the Dead, correct? Or are you thinking of something else?

On the one hand I would LOVE to see Argento complete his 'mothers' trilogy... on the other hand, his more recent movies have really struck me as tame and toned down, not just from the obvious gore perspective, but the flare of his direction. His more recent movies have, for the most part, lacked that "thing" that really drew me to his work in the first part...

It would have to. 233 minutes is a mere tick away from 4 hours. lol I don't think fulci had that much gore in the unrated Zombie. :p Out of curiostiy, what is the actual movie runtime of Zombie "R" rated version versus the completely uncut version? Is it the 94 minutes versus the 91/89 minutes in Return's post?
