i saw this movie in THEATERS!!! and when the kid pulls that head out of the box, the scene that was on the preview, and the parents screamed, THE WHOLE THEATER STOOD UP AND SCREAMED. it was fucking crazy! one of my favorite memories of al time, must have been alot of highschoolers and college kids there because it got fucking insane when that happened.

Cant wait to see Tims new film Big Fish, im gonna actually pay to see this one lol. not just download it.

Nightmare is great! I also really loved The Witches, based on that great Roald Dahl book. Also Dark Crystal and Labyrinth are good pretty scary movies for kids.

Ah, The Witches is killer movie! Remember the scene at the beginning where the grandma is telling the story of her friend being kidnapped by a witch?

Yeah, that was creepy as all hell. Well, as a little kid it was...

Is that the one with Angelica Houston? I remember her describing the smell of children to other witches: "Children smell like fresh dog droppings."

That's true... I also think, that it's the best one.
I also like "Ernest scared stupid" :) Some very funny jokes and I think, for kids it will be a little frightening too...

My son's favorites are the EVIL DEADS...Especially Army of darkness...He has loved them since he was 5 years old...He would watch A.O.D. over and over again...Just laughed his butt off!!! I could always tell what part was coming up if I was in another room...He would start to giggle...Then just bust out laughing...constantly walking around the house quoting Bruce Campbell...hahaha...What...hmm...They WEREN'T made for children? Oh...okay...well then...Shhh...Don't tell him that!!!

I just saw Mad Monster Party which has cool puppets though the story is kind of slow. Great to have in the background at parties and it features all the famous monsters.
Pirates of the Carribean was pretty good for a new Disney. I had a feeling haunted mansion would be a step down from it.
Has anyone seen Little Vampire or Little Monsters? I haven't (they look bad), but i could be wrong...

Nightmare Before Christmas is one of those few kick ass movies that breaks all barriers - it's scary AND funny AND a little bit romantic in a few different ways AND dramatic AND action packed, PLUS it's for kids AND teenagers AND adults AND grandmas and grandpas AND every and any one else who doesn't want to be categorized.

Hocus Pocus was awesome, too. But then there's this really small, hidden, almost completely forgotten side of me that for some very strange reason kind of almost sort of likes Bette Midler. I can't explain that one - it just worked out that way.

I think just about anything by Tim Burton falls into this catagory. I personally love his work, and Danny Elfmans scores are one of the biggest influences for me.

Cant wait to see his new flick Big Fish looks incredible. Maybe im just too hardcore of a fan:D

Clearly we have all forgotten about the Monster Squad. Little Monsters is also a classic.
