I did a search, and to the best of my knowledge this thread hasn't been done before ;)

Anyway, "The Wicker Man" is currently being filmed as a re-make with...Nicholas Cage...BOOOOOOO.

Thoughts anyone? Personally...I'm not happy about it...but I'm usually not too happy with any remake:p

Some films are classics and defo shouldn't be remade no matter what and this fits into that group. It will probably have a nice happy ending just rub salt into the wound.
I am a believer that some remakes can be a good thing and inspire interest in the original films but not this.

I agree that a lot of times people seem to overrate it, but it still has a great plot. I wonder if the new one will have the weird musical numbers.

Hmmmm, I like Cage so it could be good... remakes have been good before people! The whole, "oh my God don't remake anything ever!" is a little played in my opinion. If you don't like the actors or director fine but give it a chance, for every five that suck one may be watchable.

LOL. The weird musical numbers are the best part of the movie ;):p

I liked the movie more after the second viewing...the first time, I was just like "huh?" ;) But then I came to appreciate it, after I understood it a bit better...and now it's definately one of my favorites...it's totally creepy.

I'm sure I'll end up at least renting the re-make...btw on IMDB...they list A WOMAN as playing the part of LORD SUMMERISLE...I'm a girl and all...but....booooooo ;)

You should watch it for no other reason that to see the beauty and sexiness of Ingrid Pitt :D She is hot as ever :p
And I liked the original by the way.....

Nicholas Cage...in a remake of The Wickerman...that sounds terrible.

Here is one actor who rarely ever gets good films in which to explore his skill. But when he does -- I tell you -- it's something to savor.

But Wickerman?! That's taking it a bit far...it takes a certain kind of character inherent in an actor to carry the role. There's not that many actors who can match the grace and charisma of Christopher Lee.

I can't even call anyone to mind...can you?

The Wickerman is timeless in itself. Why bother remaking it?

Amen to that brotha.

That's got to be one of the fruitiest movies I'ev ever sat through! The only cool part was like the last 10 minutes. Other than that, it was a bunch of weirdos singing in the nude and dancing around like it was Woodstock.

At least niether Freddie Prinze Junior nor Ahston Kutcher are in it. Cage is a great actor.
