I work at blockbuster and so when "Destroy all humans" came out for ps2/xbox. They gave me a free copy of it. It truly is as awful as they say it is.

I'm on the West coast and I'm watching it right now. I curse the Medveds who originally slapped the title of worst movie ever on this film. It's a lot more fun to watch than a lot of other movies that have budgets far larger than this film did.

I'll say this for the Medveds...they have been inaccurate (who hasn't, folks?) ...but they championed the cause of the Bad Movie in the 70's. They did a lot to make people see that watching a bad movie could be a pretty good time.

And I think their readers' votes had something to do with Plan 9 being crowned "The Worst Movie."

But hey........aside from all that. Plan 9 is a LOT of fun to watch. It is really funny. I haven't seen it in a couple of years and I wanna see it again. I can do a pretty mean Criswell impression.

Horrible...just horrible...
I thoughi I saw/heard/read somewhere that Bela died BEFORE the movie even started, the scenes of him were from something else...the actual movie was shot around those...the vampire character walking around with the cape is def not him.

...Rob Zombie was talking about how he stole an Octopus prop to use in Bride of the Monster for Bela Lugosi. He stole it from another production company. LOL, too funny.

You guys skip out on the Tim Burton movie or something? Haha, both of those events are in it. Awesome, awesome movie by the way.

Im actually working on a school project about Ed Wood, so I plan to watch this again soon (as in tonight or tomorrow). Only seen it once:eek:

Oh yeah. I've had that on my list for awhile.

Hows the picture and sound quality?

How many of us sought out the movie becasue it was billed as "the worst film ever made?" I know that's what got my attention when I was a teen. :D

It is obviously not the worst film ever made and damn fun to boot, but you can't buy press like "worst film ever."

Have yet to watch Jailbait or Glen or Glenda, but Plan 9, Bride of the Monster and Night of the Ghouls are all fantastic quality.

Prime stuff. By the way, it may not be necessary to drop 30 bucks on. The boys from Image Entertainment have one with perfectly good sound quality, a kitschy in-depth documentary that contains Sam Raimi and a friend reenacting Groucho Marx interviewing Tor Johnson on an episode of "You Bet Your Life". Sam does a damn good Groucho. I'm pretty sure it runs for less than 30. The Medveds were way off base naming this the worst movie ever made. I just picked up the 50 Horror classics box set from Epscom for an utter song, and there's at least 11 old Monogram pictures that have stiffer plots, more vapid acting and far less entertainment value than Plan 9. Plan 9 isn't even the worst film Tor Johnson ever made. A little gem called Beast of Yucca Flats deserves that distinction. Plus, I'm dead certain the worst movie ever made must be a made for the sci fi channel production about giant animals fighting some dude from Melrose Place. Or something on Lifetime about Suzanne Sommers or Swoosie Kurtz being raped. Glen or Glenda even decimates Plan 9 in the Highlanderesque war for Worst Movie ever made. Idiot critics. There can be only one. And that one is not Plan 9.

Someone didnt check the link before commenting on the price:p

$30 not just for Plan 9, but also Glen or Glenda, Jaibait, Bride of the Monster, Night of the Ghouls, and a documentary on Ed Wood, The Haunted World of Edward D. Wood Jr.

More than your money's worth.

Ah, I see. Definitely more than your money's worth. Incidentally, speaking of Ed Wood, every Wood fan ought to see Maniac. It could picture Ed Wood with a little notebook out as he watched it. It's on the 50 Horror Classics DVD set, but I'm sure it's been released elsewhere too. Amazing piece of over the top kitsch, that easily tops Wood movies with it's ability to transcend quality and good taste to reach Cult nirvana.

I am a huge fan of cult horror films also. I guess from my screen name anyone could tell. I have also seen "The Beast of Yucca Flats" and "Plan 9 From Outerspace" was definately a more fun movie. On Friday November 17th TCM will be screening "The Mark of the Vampire". That is another fun movie in my book. It has a surprise ending brought to us in part by Bela and Todd Browning.
