I've been having a hard time the past 2 days. My Great- Grandpa (the man who raised me) has to have emergency open heart surgery at 7:30 tomorrow morning...naturally I've rearranged my life just to be there where he is and wait. So, I'm leaving at 4am to go to Columbia Missouri, I should be sleeping, but I can't.
Just a few minutes ago, as soon as I get to where I feel "ok" about it, and calm down a bit, this song comes on the radio...and I just LOST it again, started bawling, but it also made me smile. The song that came on the radio was "Carrying your love with me" by George Strait...anyways, what's so weird about that is this is the only song that has come out in the past 50 years that my grampa likes (see, my family is from Tennessee, and it talks about Tennessee), and it made me think of all kindsa good things. So yeah, I'm not sure why I'm making this thread, I just like to share things like this...and I wanted to see if I can get some of you to pray, or light candles, or whatever it is that you do for hope...I need all I can get right now :)

~Baby all I got is this beat up leather bag
And everything I own don’t fill up half
But don’t you worry ’bout the way I pack
All I care about is gettin’ back, real soon
A goodbye kiss is all I need from you

Cause I’m carrying your love with me
West virginia down to tennessee
I’ll be movin’ with the good lord’s speed
Carrying your love with me
It’s my strength for holding on
Every minute that I have to be gone
I’ll have everything I’ll ever need
I’m carrying your love with me

On a lonely highway stuck out in the rain
Darlin’ all I have to do, is speak your name
The clouds roll back and the waters part
The sun starts shinin’ in my heart for you
You’re right there in everything I do...cause

Cause I’m carrying your love with me
West virginia down to tennessee
I’ll be movin’ with the good lord’s speed
Carrying your love with me
It’s my strength for holding on
Every minute that I have to be gone
I’ll have everything I’ll ever need
I’m carrying your love with me

It’s my strength for holding on
Every minute that I have to be gone
I’ll have everything I’ll ever need
I’m carrying your love with me
I’m carrying your love with me

I’m carrying your love with me
West virginia down to tennessee
I’ll be movin’ with the good lord’s speed
Carrying your love with me~

I really hope that your grandfather's surgery goes well. I know the position you're in. The thing is, I don't know how to tell you to feel. You know, that's something that's individual. I can tell you that you and your grandfather are going to definitely be in my thoughts. I really really wish him all the health and love in the cosmos, and I really really wish you all the strength and love in the cosmos.

I hope every thing works out for the best.

You got my best wishes comin' your way, you know it...However things turn out, you can always talk to me, and I'm sorry that you've gotta go through this, regardless of thr outcome, I hate to see you upset...
My thoughts are with you and your whole family for this.
Try to be ok.

Sorry Marroe. I won't get into a huge comforting thought, because I know your pain would only just subside. Just think of how he would want you to feel in this moment and try to understand that he will ALWAYS be with in some form.

Use one of your pics as a symbol of a "Ray of Hope."

Same here from me. I'm not too much good with words unless it's nonsense, but I can chime in.

Thank you all!
He's doing great, and I can't say how great that makes me feel. They did a quadruple bypass, and it took almost 8 hours...but this morning as soon as we could go in and see him, he was sitting in a chair (with about 900 radio looking things hooked to him), asking if we were ready to take him home. Even the nurses were amazed at how well he's doing. That was a huge relief for me, and it was awesome that they told us we could only see him 10 minutes at a time, but they let us stay in there for 3 hours.....aaaanyways, all is good, and thanks to all of you who posted here, and PMed me, everything helps.

Just want to say first: Marroe, it's really great to know that your granpa is doing well. Give him lots of love and attention, and I think that will make the healing process even faster. Goddess bless you and your grandpa.

No, for the quote. I have a simple response. She didn't scare me as a kid either. Why? Because she kicks ass. I would have given her the shoes if I were Dorothy. They would have gone with the WWotW much better. Besides, the WWotW probably had the power to send her back to Kansas any way.
