I think it basically explains itself. What with all the possibilites for features, transfers, ect. what are some of the best DVDs/sets you guys have?

One of my personal favourites would have to be the Monster Legacy collections from Universal. Absolutly incredible picture/sound quality, plus some really cool features. Not to mention the kickass movies, of course.

Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal both have great DVDs, with some pretty original stuff as far as features [Anthony Hopkins's answering machine message? Friggin cool]

The remake of House on Haunted Hill isnt too shabby either. Nothing dfferent really, but definatly some interesting stuff in the featurettes.

Ive spent hours with my Hellboy DVD, and I swear I havnt seen half the stuff on there. Great DVD, absolutly loved the cartoons they included!

Last but no least, there's some awesome double feature discs out there. While usually lacking in features, they can put 2 great movies together on a single dics, which is always nice. Some of my faves include: The Abominable Dr Phibes/Dr Phibes Rises Again!, The Fly/The Fly 2, and House of Wax '53/Mystery of the Wax Museum.

Well, how bout you guys?

Despite having a fairly huge DVD collection, it's very rare that I ever actually watch the bonus material. *shrug* I just don't have much interest in how they made a certain effect or what one of the actors thought of a particular scene. I'd rather spend that time watching a different movie.

The only double disc DVD that I have that I like is Demons 1 & 2. (Aweseome!) I also have Wishmaster 1 & 2 but those.... Well, they suck.

The version of Shaun of the Dead that I have has HEAPS of extras...quite informative, and funny.

Rammstein Live Aus Berlin - Just a kick-ass concert and dvd, some bonus tracks on there...I just love the band, and this thing rocks.

As I recall, BadBoys 2 had a lot of good extras, including trailers...and you gotta love a good collection of 3-4 trailers on a dvd. I remember seeing my first trailer of "The Returner" due to watching this dvd, so...mad props there.

Ok, not that I own the "official" copies or anything...I've picked up various star trek dvds, well just ds9 and voyager actually...and I've gotta say, I don't think I've ever seen as many extras/featurettes on dvd, ever. I guess this would be great for people that are REALLY into the shows, and all the other "stuff" that surrounds it.

Microcosmos - my favourite dvd. I don't know why, if it's the music, the perspective, the styalised shooting, or what...but to this day, it's an awesome experience. I don't even know if it HAS any extras on it, but it wins out on it's own.

Theres something (MORE) about Mary
Great extended version, really worth checking out...and they actually incorporate the extra scenes into the film, which is also great, not to mention a pretty damn big bundle of extras througout the dvd including various commentaries, interviews, trailers, and behind the scenes stuff. Very good value.

As a general rule, I also like bloopers/gag reel, and always consider this a bonus...yep, there's always gag reels out there, and I think every dvd oughta have one.

Well...that's it from me.

Well, perhaps it is a coincidence that these are all zombie films, BUT,

I realli realli like the ZOMBI 2, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, DAWN OF THE DEAD and DAY OF THE DEAD se DVDs. The supplements are just fantastic. The transfers of all these films are great too.

As far as packing a whole lot of stuff on ONE single-sided disc, the NOTLD Millennium Edition beats 'em all. You could spend a whole day with that disc and make a pretty solid day out of it. Two commentaries, a slew of special materials. Enough to choke a horse!
