Cause I rented it and I'm gonna watch it tonight, and I just wanted to know if it's a good movie.

True horror classic, just beware of the garbage sequal.

I love it,but it was made in the '70's and it looks it, but overall it's one of the great horror films

Carrie really is great. Perfect example of how you can simultaneously pity and fear the monster. Avoid that "sequel" like the plague though.

I hear ya...it's really a shame the movie was made in the 70's. It would have looked so much less dated, had it been made in some other decade. If only they had had the foresight to wait until the 90's or the 00's, then it would have been full of modern special effects instead of those weird old-fashioned special effects they used back then, which were inferior because they were current techniques at the time. But hindsight is always 20/20, so they say. Hopefully all films will be newly remade, and then we can destroy the originals.

Especially those goddamn Universal monster movies they made in the 30's and 40's...in black and white! What were they thinking?? I mean what is UP with those things girlfriend. Puh-leeeeeaze.

Good, but not all it's cracked up to be, IMO.

The only remake I knew of was this one with Angela Bettis....I didn't bother to watch it, but yes it was a t.v movie:

I didn't know there was another.

Anyway, I love the original. I am fond of tales of revenge and I think this is damn good one. :D

Got this crazy obnoxious attitude sometimes of putting a film down just because there's a character, for example, that just makes my blood boil. That's probably just another one of those self-indulging bad habits I'm often plagued with...

...until I saw Brian de Palma's earlier films, The Fury and Dressed to Kill. That got me thinking that perhaps Carrie deserves another viewing.

Of course it's good. It's a classic. I love the sound effect when she is using here powers at the dance.
