OK, if you read my last post (Horror in the modern day) you will know that I am fed up of the same old shit that keeps coming out.

So I thought I would be a bit daring.

I am looking into having a go at making my own horror movie!! lol

But I am not a writer or a musician so I am really just looking for peolpe who would like to be a part of it. I dont want any money (cos I will try to finance it by myself) I just want peoples passion for horror and time to help me write and compose a movie.

Im to am fed up with the blown up horror today, movies like resident evil and ghost ship could have been ALLOT better when it wasn't ment for a big audience, so more gore and stuff

I have money to get the project started and rolling but then I will look for sponsorship and as I run my own business I know a few people who may offer help but I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

This is a very serious project and I want to go for it at least we will be able to look back and say we try whether it fails or succeeds but I want this to succeed so I will invest as much as I can but obviously my budget has a limit lol

Im just waiting for the OK from bunn100 to do the score, id be intrested in workin as the Music Director if he needs it as well. I could talk to all you guys with bands wanting on, i.e. which songs you guys would want to use, where in the movie would be the best and most appropriate place to put them, who would get the close and opening credit scenes etc. Ive learned alot abou this in my music industry classes so i think we could really do this. SOOOO, so far for bands we got Vamprockers(horror rock/roll) and Abbys (all girl horror punk) sounds good so far, any other takers??

Welcome on board Arioch who is our Music man. He is gonna deal with all the music issues we will have and it will be his choice that makes it on board. So all you music people out there that want to help if you could message Arioch that would be great (as long as he does not mind lol)

GREAT! im all over it. im gonna pm Vamp rocker and Abby about what they want to do. Ive got 2 projects im finishing for my classes this last week of school but i should be done with those at the VERY latest on monday. Nope, i dont even have a genre yet. So its very much preproduction at this stage. I think he wants to bring some writers onboard before he decides anything in terms of plot or genre. So i think we all could have input on this. Sounds like a pretty good way to make a movie to me. Im sure we can saddle some of the talent on this board.

Ok to answer some of the questions you guys have been throwing at Arioch (poor old Arioch lol)

The film is obviously gonna be a horror lol but I this is want I want out of the film

The film is gonna be realistic, dark, shocking and pretty much fucked up and disturbing. Basically I want a film where the audience will think fuck that can happen to me.

And you know those rollercoasters you gonna tht scare the shit out of you but you have to go on it again just to feel the same as you did last time, that is what I want out of the movie.

But as Arioch says EVERYONE can contribute to the film cos at the end of the day this is a film for the fans and not for box office millions. (even though that would be nice)

hello ppl, first of all nice to meet all of you and i hope i am not too late here.. i do write some horror stories but mostly they have been slashers and some have been ghost oriented.. if you tell me more what you looking for then i can work on a good piece.. i just hope i can join.. the last story i worked on was about this guy who is haunted by his wife's ghost and then he hires a medium to talk to her and leave him alone.. when the medium talks to the husband, he is disturbed.. this we find out later, why he is disturbed... then of course the medium meets the wife and tells her to tell her husband the truth... and it turns out that its not the wife thats dead,,, but the husband,. and its the husband who is haunting her.... anyways hope you guys liked it... mssg me if i can help you guys.. hope i can..

Sounds a lot like "Sixth Sense" meets "The Others"...Sorry Hash...If I hadn't pointed that out, someone else would have...Try to think of something that's never been done before...Maybe some new villain that's somehow different than any other...Wish I could think of something myself...Maybe it would be best to leave that to the TRULY twisted brains on this board...I know they're here...I could probably only contribute some "manner of death" ideas...

k another story i worked on, it started like this.. that there is this coach found by the police and inside its all covered by blood and all the passenger are missing.. then all of a sudden a noise is heard in the luggage section of the coach.. when the police investigates it turns out to be a little boy of about 9 years old... now i am working on what happens next maybe someone can help... i was thinking that maybe it turns out that the boy turns into something and devours the passengers or something... if someone has a better idea... so write to me..

I think we should leave the gore, slash etc to hollywood unless you are a multimillionaire bunn - it would just look cheap unless you have the money for the special effects.
I think concentrating on the build-up and suspense would be the way to go - personnally the only movies which have scared me are those ones, particularly the ghost stories.
Perhaps concentrating on myth and legend and bringing it into the 21st century - but we would obviously need to find a lesser known legend which hasn't been done to death - they had a lot in medieval times and in the middle ages.

So guys here is my idea for the movie (i wont go into great detail now but I will at a later date)

To put it simply it is a psychological roller coaster. It is the unraveling of a tortured soul.

What saves this film on the violence factor will be the moments inbetween the acts of violence (and sometimes during) and the context and deeper meaning they hold.

The main character is basically someone who intially self-harmed himself, but that was not enough and then he starts killing people (I do want the deaths to be as brutal as possible with new ideas and twists). The difference is that he knows killing is wrong and loathes it but he has too do it it has become an addiction like smoking or drinking it has become a habit he cannot break. So during the killing I wont to show him feeling remorse but then also brutality.

Then to cut a long story short it then becomes not enough to kill other people so he kils himself (and I would love his suicide to be the goriest of them all)

So the story will deal with issues such as addiction and right and wrong and self-harm and discipline.

Tell me what you think guys

Umm - sounds ok bunn - it seems from your post to be sort of a "horror" about the mess that society is in - i'm guessing the police would come into the picture at some point, with that amount of dead bodies following the "hero" around. However, do you not think this would become more of a psychological thriller along the lines of Se7en, rather than a true horror. If so, that is cool also.

I would also be interested in acting as welll as helping with scriptwriting, ideas - hell I'll do anything!

Alright!! honestly i was hoping we would be heading in this direction but i didnt want to say anyone so i was keeping my mouth shut. Alot of people on here are turned off by psychological thrillers/horror movie, it seems if it doesnt have a huge monster or cg than the people around here (not all of them but a majority) turn their noses up at it. I cant understand it myself.

But if you think about it, this would be best for the amount of money we're workin with and the genre were goin for. Its gonna be hard to get alot of CGI or big monster fx with no big studio sponsorship dont you think guys? Im sure we'll have alot of good talent in on this and i know we're gonna make it kick ass.

dear bunn100..by the way i just read how you want the story.. i have got a true story for you..... it happened in Pakistan.... this guy named Javed Iqbal, he killed 100 children and hold the record right now.. he killed them and then threw their bodies in acid.. and when he gave himself up to the police.. while questioning him he jumped out of the window and killed himself... you can check this story out on any good search engine.. even as kid he was torturted and sodomized so i think that lead to the killing... i think he even said that it was wrong,,, but i had to do it cause i couldnt stop.... check it out..

I thought to do a true horror the budget and experience just was not there so the best way is to do a film like this.

Plus I think if we can capture the right atmosphere and mood this could be extremely haunting and disturbing.

Have been thinking about the serial killers genre - it is a well-known fact that nearly all are male - so as a twist we could have our main character as female - it would set it apart from the masses. (And women can be really mean)!
Probably not a good idea but am just throwing thoughts around.

FUCKIN WELL SAID Bunn! god im pissed off about this, after all we did to try and help.
