Here's a new zombie flick that was filmed in Lexington. A friend of mine is an extra...which is pretty cool. I've noticed a lot of people on this board are from Ky so if you are in the Lexington area you should check it out.

Awesome man, I live about 20 minutes from Lexington.
I just checked out the site for Dance with a Vampire and that one looks cool too. Are the same people who did Planet involved with that one? What part are you playing in the flick? Sorry if I'm asking a ton of questions, I'm really interested though.
Yep, almost all the same people are in it. I play the lead Vampire Fisk. Hense my login name. By the way, What paper is it that we got three stars in?

I believe it was the Herald Leader. It was either that or the local Lawrenceburg paper. I'm leaning towards H-L though.
If anyone is Interested I have started my own chat forum at http://groups.msn.com/IndieFilmLovers. Hope to see ya there

You did miss out on an awesome time, but don't distress, there are several movies up in coming to be filmed in Ky from indie companies. Just for a heads up Zombie Planet will soon go world wide, we have a deal with Tempe Entertainment and will be available for purchase in 3 months. We'll also have an article in Fangoria soon. In case anyone is wondering I have moved to Hollywood. I have done background work for a few T.V. shows and will be doing alot more so keep your eyes open for me. I was a Bartender in WB's Summerland. I'll be in the first eppisode of Medical investigation, and also NCIS. No speaking rolls but i'm working in the backgrounds right now, Gotta start at the bottom if ya wanna reach the top. Good luck to all, in all of your endeavors. Thanks for your time and consideration.

You were wondering how to find out about movies that are being produced in Kentucky.
There are several options to find about these movies. The Kentucky Film Office post some of them The URL is:
http://filmoffice.ky.gov/bulletinboard.htm
I have a Yahoo Group for the Kentucky area:
http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/Central_KY_Movie_Site/
If you live in the Louisville area you can join Casting Louisville:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CastingLouisville/
If you live in the northern Kentucky you might want to join the Southern Ohio Film Association (SOFA):
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SouthernOhioFilmmakersAssociation/
By the way, The production company the produced Zombie Planet is expecting to gear up in September for their next movie "Edison Death Machine". They are always looking for new faces. They are also one of the few places in the area that you might get a start in the movies, other than as an extra. OK, it might be a minor part!
Good luck,
Bob
Just for a heads up, the company that Produced Zombie Planet, Zombie Planet Productions. Great people to work with, and I would recomend them to anyone. I had a great time, and we made some great movies. Best wished to all.

FYI
George Bonilla, writer/director of Zombie Planet does read this forum, but for some reason he hasen't been able to post to it.
He ask me to pass this along to you.
Tempe Entertainment just sent out a press release to whoever they send press releases to. This allows the producers of Zombie Planet the freedom (now that it is public) to release the following information:
Zombie Planet by writer/director George Bonilla and Executive Producer David Workman will be distributed through California based Tempe Entertainment. The official release date will be October 19, 2004. US sales will be through K.C. Sales and Canadian sales and distribution will be through SMA Distribution.
Pre release sales will begin on September 21, 2004. Tempe Entertainment's web site www.tempevideo.com does not yet have have the release information updated. Check in a few days for more info.
As I write this message, George is working on a new trailer for the movie. It should be available online in a few days.

If everything goes like it has in the past, the easiest way to get a part is to come to some of the weekly meetings that we have.
Normally we have meetings every Monday night. We closed down the meetings as well as our studio after wrapping our last feature, Dance With A Vampire.
Sometime in September or maybe October, we will start having meetings again. Anyone interested in becoming cast or crew is welcome to come to the meetings.
Unfortunatley, I don't know where we will be holding meetings yet. I'll try to remember to let you know when I have more information.

Hi Zombie Lovers,
For those of you that take the time to read this forum, I wanted you to know about three new Yahoo! Groups that I'm are starting up.
All three of these groups are official "Fan Sites" for George Bonilla's three movie concepts. We will be inviting all the actors and crew involved to join the group (or groups) as well, so that you can ask them directly any questions that you have. We will also send out updates about each concept to the mailing list. We will send out "behind the scenes" comments from time to time. All are moderated groups, which will slow you down some, but will keep out spam and vindictive comments.
The first concept is for "Zombie Planet" and "Zombie Planet: Adam's Revenge." I would like to invite all of you to join:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zombieplanet
Of interest to you on this group - As soon as I get a copy of the DVD, I will be posting frames from the movie in the "Photos" section.
The second concept is "Dance With A Vampire." This is the third movie for writer/director George Bonilla. It is still in post production, but for all you horror fans it is a must see movie. We will upload some publicity stills to this site for now.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dwav
The third concept is his upcoming movie "The Edison Death Machine. It is still in preproduction. Most of the script has been written, but I talked George into trying something new!
HELP US WRITE THE MOVIE
The "death machine" is another way to bring the dead to life... yes another zombie movie. When we get enough members, we will post a synopsis of the movie and ask members to make suggestions for some of the scenes. If we like your idea and use it you will get screen credit in the movie. No pay, but you get to be a part of another great movie.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tedm
We have other contest planned, but I'm not sure if I have room on this post.
None of the sites are public yet. In fact. I'm the only member but feel free to send the link to anyone else who might be interested.
Thanks,
Bob

LilMissScareAll,
Thanks for joining the group. I know that Yahoo Groups may not the be best way to handle what we are trying to do, but it is easy and free.
I think this forum and one other are the only places that I have posted any info about the sites so far and we've had about seven people try to post. All appear to be spammers.
You and one other person joined that are not part of the production company.
You really do have a pretty good chance of getting into the movie. I can't make any promises, but it is relativelt easy to get a part as an extra in an independent movie. If you want to try out for a character with lines it is also possible. I got a small part in Dance With A Vampire when I first started with the production company.
I was talking to George Bonilla, the writer/director on the phone before I had met him. I told him that I thought that it would be cool to be a vampire, but that I couldn't act and had no personality. He said "We'll make you a cop." Never did get to be a vampire, but I got a line or two.
I'll keep you in mind when we start looking for people. I'll put in a good word.
Bob

I'd really love to have a speaking part. But if not, I'll settle for being an extra.

novakru,
Well I guess to keep it a little on topic, I would have to say that I'be been woking on The Edison Death Machine. From a production standpoint it is a zombie movie. However, from the point of view of a zombie lover we will get slaughtered if we call it a zombie flick.
Our creatures don't eat brains and don't create new zombies when they kill people.
It is based on a "legend" that Thomas Edison was working on a machine to communicate with the dead. In our story, that machine is found, but instead of communicating with the dead it brings them back to life.
You can find out more on the official web site:
www.EdisonDeathMachine.com (http://www.EdisonDeathMachine.com) .

Thanks Bob.
Can't wait to see the trailer.
Now that's what I like to see,an original idea.
I have seen a short film some time back that hinted at the "spirit machine" but it was too undefined and lacked emotional attachment with the characters.
I hope this one will do something to jump start the concept that you don't really need to run good movies into the ground with parts 1 thru 55.:)
Good Luck
