Hi all,

There's been a ton of horror movies in the past year, and I'm woefully behind in my viewing of them. Could you please tell me which ones are worth my time and money?

Thanks,
Matt

Devil Rejects, and Land of the Dead. Yep, that's about all.

Seriously guys? Horror movies released today all sucks. I'll stick to the classics (by that, I mean from 1900-1990.) :)

I haven't seen The Devil's Rejects or High Tension yet, but I think they both look great.

The Devil's Rejects and High Tension

I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen Land of the Dead yet.

Devil's Rejects was a-m-a-z-i-n-g

Exorcism of Emily Rose was very, very good.

Devil's Rejects and Land of the Dead are the only ones I've seen (well, new ones, that is) that are really worth a damn. I'm still holding out some hope for High Tension though.

Grudge sucked. Ring 2 sucked. House of WAx has Paris Hilton in it so it's bound to suck too. Haven't seen Haute Tension yet. Land of the Dead was decent but not up to par with Romero's other masterpieces. They took Devil's Rejects out of theatres before I got a chance to see it. :(

Maybe Cry_Wolf or Venom will turn out to be okay but they both look pretty run of the mill... I gues we'll find out very soon though.

Wow. This thread just made me realize how shitty the last year of horror has been. LotD was a BIG disappointment for me and it's still looking like the best one.

Land of the Dead has gotta be the best Ive seen in theatres latly. Didnt get a chance to see DR or HT though. Skeleton Key was OK, nothing spectacular, but Id say worth renting once it's on DVD.

Land of the Dead was cool, I liked Audition too but not if you're into the whole story thing (not really new except for the new region 1 release). Undead looked pretty decent for a quasi tribute to other zombie fim makers.

That one did look okay, but I think it was in theatres for like 2 weeks so I never got around to seeing it. I'll rent that one once it's out though.

Skeleton Key might be alright. Voodoo movies are very hit or miss for me.

I agree, last voodoo movie I liked was The Serpant and the Rainbow.

I love that movie. :D
Skeleton Key was a bore until the end. And even then, I wasn't exactly overly impressed. Not too much of interest there, in my opinion.

Skeleton Key was okay. I wouldnt really call it horror even.

LoTD was mediocre. I wasnt really paying attention to it when I watched saw it (heh.) but from what I watched, it was more of a zombie-action movie. Which I hate.

Devils Rejects was simply a masterpiece.

The Ring 2 was a waste of time and a huge disappointment. The Ring is a favorite of mind, so I had high hopes for the sequel.
