My mom was super liberal when I was a kid so I was watching scary movies as far back as I can remember. Now I have 3 year old daughters and dont wanna scar them or make them afraid of the dark. Anyone else here with kids have any experince in this?

I don't have any kids, but sometimes when I babysit for my friend (She has a daughter that's 3.) I force the kid to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre repeatedly. She cries and gets scared, but I tell her to quit acting like a pansy and shut up.

My daughter is 3 and she loves horror movies, especially Halloween and Children of the Corn! She has never gotten scared.

LOL...When Seri was 3, she was IN LOVE with the Toxic Avenger...Damn, I got so sick of those movies...She had to watch them every day...I can still hear her running around the house saying, "Toxie"...Where DID that little girl go?...*sigh*

Alex did the exact same thing with the Evil Dead movies...He STILL does....Constantly quoting Bruce Campbell...

I got so sick of watching that movie!:p Dustin's boy just turned 5 a couple of months ago...His hangups are Chucky and Killer Klowns From Outer Space......It seems to be so much easier to pick 'favorites' when you're younger....If I had to choose favorites, I'd have to make a list a few pages long...

OH...And both of our boys have decided that if the baby is a boy, we have to name it Ash...lol.......AND, they both want chainsaws (thanks to Ash) for Christmas...I'm still working on a way out of that one.....

If you are surprised he missed, you'll probably be downright pissed at me because I had no idea either.

Congrats!!!

I think you should name him bwind22 if it's a boy.

Cool..thanks for all the feedback.. And no I am not afraid of the dark (anymore). I just dont want to overstimulate the brats. Ash would be a kick ass name for a boy.. My girls are named Salem Willow and Graci Raven.

I have a female friend named 'Ash', actually her real name is Ashyln, but everyone calls her Ash, she loves it.

I don't have children, but I'd let them decide for themselves. Mostly because every kid developes differently. I started watching (and liking) horror movies when I was about 7, and my cousin still refuses to watch them (and she's 23).

Well, I "let" my kids (the ones in my nutsack, that is) start watching when I was about the age of 6-7.

My son is 4yrs old and he watches what I call kiddie horror. Things like Gremlins, House, Bride of Chucky and just general things like that. I don't think he's quite old enough for the good stuff yet.
