I wanna see, this movie it has some great actors in it (IMO, Johnny Depp, Christopher Lee, Albert Finney, and Helena Bonham Carter) and the concept sounds interesting anyway...

Victor (Johnny Depp), a villager in a small 19th-century European town, is taken to the underworld to marry a corpse bride (Helena Bonham Carter). Meanwhile, his wife (Emily Watson) hopes he'll return home soon.

oh and it's being directed by Tim Burton and Michael Johnson.

the new tim berton film staring johnny depp. it is am animeated film that looks very much like the nightmare before christams. here is the basics of the plot

Victor (Johnny Depp) is travelling home with his friend to get married to his fiancee Victoria (Emily Watson). The two stop to rest in the woods, and as a joke, Victor puts his wedding ring on a finger-shaped stick in the ground and says his wedding vows. The stick turns out to be a rotted finger belonging to a murdered girl (Helena Bonham-Carter), who returns as a zombie and insists that she is now Victor's lawfully wedded wife

tell me what you think.

old news... but, I'm really looking forward to this. NBC is my fave movie ever. (and I bought it the first day it ever came out on VHS, so I'm not just some new fan who is half goth, half mallrat)

This is going to excellent, even if its not as good as NBC it will still be great.

Unless something tragic happens, everything looks at the moment like any number of his other classic films.

Synopsis: Set in a 19th century European village, this stop-motion, animated feature follows the story of Victor (Depp), a young man who is whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride (Bonham-Carter), while his real bride, Victoria (Watson), waits bereft in the land of the living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colorful than his strict Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world, or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love. It’s a tale of optimism, romance and a very lively afterlife, told in classic Tim Burton style.

Wow, another movie I can't wait to see. I really want to see it with my girlfriend, even though I know she probably wont be too thrilled about it. In fashion of Nightmare Before Christmas, which I loved, this movie looks pretty interesting and to have a great atmosphere.

In Theaters This September

Oh, come now, we know you work for the studio, and it's a very transparent attempt to pimp the movie. You can do better than that.

It sounds good, but i'm sort of getting sick of Depp in every fucking film ever. I do like him, but it seems like he and Will Ferral are in a million new movies. I'd like a little more variety.

At least in this you won'thave to see him, just hear his voice and maybe see his mannerisms played out by a puppet.

I'm such a NBC fan and I saw this trailer for the first time several weeks ago and and and ::hyperventilates::

I eat this stuff up like tweens and boybands. Seriously though...it looks soooooo good...I had been waiting for Tim Burton to do another movie in this style. I think it was maybe a couple of years ago when I heard the news about this one. I thought it was just a rumor for a while but...man...I'd camp outside the theater to see this one first. Like hell I'd do that for Star Wars, but this? Oh yes.

I finally saw the trailer for this tonight before the F4. It looks really good. The same style as NBC. I had been hoping they would do a sequel to that, bu this will hold me over for awhile.

I'm quite excited about this one, but also a little surprised that you guys seem to share that excitement. On most of the other forums I go to, the general consensus seems to be, "Oh, it's been done. Looks just like Nightmare Before Christmas. Whine, whine, whine." As it's made by the same director in the same style, a little overlap is to be expected.

I'm excited about this. And the animation geek in me is really excited to hear that it is in fact stop-motion and not 3D. No one does that anymore. (Unless I'm wrong- I just read something saying it was stop-motion). As far as it looking like nightmare before christmas, eh it happens. Artists have a certain style they tend to use and it makes sense that their various projects will reflect that.

It's no accident that this looks a lot like NBC. I'm sure Burton himself liked that film and wanted to recapture some of the feel. He makes holiday movies for the rest of us. I liked Rudolph as a kid, but would have gone nuts for a good set of Halloween Specials instead of just "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and that Fat Albert Halloween cartoon.

tim burton does these little stopmotion animation films and he does it well. nightmare before christmas is my absolute favourite christmas eve movie. i watch it -every- year.

when i heard about corpse bride, i was expecting it to be some kind of sequel to nightmare, but it's not.

doesn't matter. i've messed around with the main site and it looks very promising. johnny depp is overused but i doubt it will have any detrimental effect.

this is going to be a lovely companion to nightmare for christmas eve!

who else loved the film short, Vincent? :)
there's also frankenweenie which i am saving for the right occasion...
