With the success of "Movie's you love that Suck", I decided to make the "Movies You Hate, That People Love." So, what are the movies you didn't like, that others mostly did?
Here are mine:
Signs
Dogma (let the ranting begin)
Batman Begins (I left the theater, so I'm not giving you my final opinion)
Sleepy Hollow
The Ring
Napolean Dynamite
The Last House on the Left

Thank dogma! :p I thought I was the only one out there. Just wasn't as funny as Mallrats or Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (though the beginning was hilarious.)

Well all those that you picked, I love (except for Batman Begins which I have yet to see). So good choices! LOL...I actually think Dogma is a love it or hate it kind of film for most people.
Let's see:
The Life of David Gale: I actually know nothing about how it did critically but I know people raved about this movie to me for months and I was so excited to see it. The cast was exceptional and had not one, but two of my favorite actors. But that movie didn't work at all for me. AT ALL. I was just disgusted honestly.
The Birds: The only Hitchcock film I have seen that I flat out dislike.
El Marichi/Deperado/Once Upon A Time In Mexico: I watched all three because I swear everyone I know loves them. I don't get it; Johnny Depp couldn't even save Once Upon A Time in Mexico for me....and believe me that is saying something.

*Jumps on the bandwagon* I also hate Dogma.
I'm not a big fan of modern comedies at all, but to narrow it down a little, I'll say that I do not like any movie that features Will Ferrell. The man is an abscess on the face of cinema. I was also forced to watch Napoleon Dynamite recently, which it seems many people like a lot. I found it repellent.

No I suppose we don't.
I thought at first it was because Antonio Banderas annoyed me so much (I saw Desperado first) but I have come to realize, I just honestly do not understand the appeal of these films. And I like many movies that could be considered "Guy-Flicks".:D

ok, you asked for it:
The entire Matrix trilogy- I fell asleep during the last 2
Blair Witch Project - didn't live up to the hype & it wasn't original (Cannibal Holocaust had the same premise)
Yellow Jacket

Oh, I also have to put out there that I hated all three of the Lord of the Rings movies. Didn't care for the books, didn't care for the movies.

Blair Witch Project - didn't live up to the hype & it wasn't original (Cannibal Holocaust had the same premise)
But Cannibal Holocaust was essentially three films in one ("real", "staged" & "real/staged), whereas The Blair Witch Project managed to sustain its "authentic, found footage" from beginning to end with no reprieve for the viewer.
To today's jaded audiences, pulling off such a feat and captivating millions with this unique idea was maybe only a matter of time, but the execution of BWP is impeccable.

Blair Witch Project, forced myself to stay awake.
Cast Away, again wanted to sleep.
Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2.
Titanic.
Hilander
Exorsist
Lord of the Rings
The Ring 1 & 2, mostly #2.
Open Water, has to be the worst movie I've ever seen, close call between this and Alone in the Dark.

I guess you haven't seen where it ranks as far as all time grossing films. ;)
YellowJacket... no prob. :)
BTW... I halfway agree about the Matrix Trilogy... nowhere near as good as the hype it got, but I don't 'hate' it.
LOTR I'm pretty much in the same area as Matrix... though the final installment really bored the fuck out of me, which is really odd... cause you'd think the finally would be really exciting.

LOTR movies...So acted- the acting wasn't believable, you could hear the director almost...DUMB!

I only saw the first one, and I wasn't really impressed either. I liked girls posing dead in the begining, but after that it went all down hill. A friend of mine is REALLY into that movie, but I think he atleast knows it sucked and loved it anyway so it's forgivable.
Other than that, I put in another vote for Napolean Dynamite. It was a waste of time... and I'm useless... my time has no value and I still feel robbed.

I donīt know why, but movies about psychos and serial killers has never frightened me. It might had made me think about the human brain and capability once or twice, but never creeped me out.

So true.;)
But let me explaine it like this.
If a psycho one day should happen to stand in my doorway with a running chainsaw in his hand, i would be horrified for sure and run for my life.
But if i saw a ghost, one night, come crawling around my closet, i think my heart would stop beating instantly.

Who knows if dentists are funny? You only associate them with pain.
Coz the only thing you can hear, as soon as you enter a dentist clinic, is your own voice telling you "oh shit this is going to hurt... Pain, pain, pain, pain...etc.". Who can seriously remember what their dentist has said, except for the classics "This might hurt a little" & "remember to floss".;)

Some of them I haven't seen and some I am neutral on and some I like, but I will say this: Eyes Wide Shut was yet another huge disappointment to me. Pulp Fiction - I don't get the hype...am I missing something?
Underworld (I think that's the name?) - Boring, bad acting.
Dirty Dancing - Again, I just don't get the fuss? Although, I'm not a big Patrick Swayzee fan, that could be part of me not getting it.
Happy Gilmore - Hate it, hate it, hate it with a passion lol!(Almost anything and EVERYTHING with Adam Sandler).
Legends of the Fall - OMG Brad Pitt is such a LAME actor. He is wooden, bland, lacking in range/depth, and just plain boring. I also hate that one he was in about the Dalai Lama (as a child, etc).
Titanic - What a yawn fest lol. When the ship sank was the best part of the film. Watching Leo and Kate make out made my skin crawl. What an awful film, and sooooo much money to make it.

Some of them I haven't seen and some I am neutral on and some I like, but I will say this: Eyes Wide Shut was yet another huge disappointment to me. I had huge expectations for that one and in the end, it just seemed so pointless. It had great potential, and had several wonderful scenes, but it lacked something....like a plot...LOL...;)
Have to agree with you on this one (EWS) I thought it was such an anti-climax film. All of the hype surrounding it...then seeing it and feeling disappointed. I'm sorry but Nicole Kidman cannot act (and I'm an aussie lol). She was awful in the movie, her love scenes with Tom were cold and passionless. I found the movie quite funny especially in the so-called dark/sombre scenes. I actually couldn't believe how bad it was.
Vanilla Sky - Just plain bad!

I know several people that do. :D But I don't know all that many people that have very discriminating taste, if you know what I mean. ;)
