Good luck to you and your home. Im very grateful my baby sister came home for this storm (she lives in new orleans). Its really a perfect looking storm, Im sure our children will hear about it like we did with fredrick. As long as god and beer are with us we should endure.

jesus christ, what a storm. Its nice to see you kids care.
80% of new orleans is under water. I really hope you're alright austin. We just got our power back and we were 100 miles away from the storm.
What a fucking disaster...this thing just keeps getting worse. Now the Governor is saying the death toll could get into the hundreds or possibly thousands.

Yep, I figure it will be awhile before anyone hears from him. This is awful, just from what I have seen and heard, which isn't much.

yeah, the gas went up to 3 bucks a gallon today, but I can live with that. There are a lot of people who have more to worry about than expensive gas...no where to live, missing loved ones, ect.... I won't complain about not having gas in my car right now.

Goddamn money fucking hungry oil tycoons.... I can agree with that. It costs more to fill my tank for 2 weeks than I pay for electric in a month. It's become an actual bill.

I hope we do get something from Austin soon. Anyone know if he was married or had any kids?
Gas...
My dad believes that the first hydrogen powered car is pretty much around the corner. Thus the oil industry is about to take a major major blow to their wallets. Their solution: Pump (no pun intended) the gas prices to the max until we get the hydrogen cars in full operation.
It's not all that far-fetched when you realize that they've been working on the hydrogen operated vehicle since the '70's.

SLASHERMAN,
That is fucking inappropriate...
I've been here to see you make some pretty insensitive comments and such before, so I know you seem to have a pretty ?weird? sense of humour, but ^this^ isn't cool.
People have lost everything, children are starving, and those that cannot leave face the ongoing possibility of dying, being robbed or even shot by assholes that are taking advantage of such a fucked up situation, making light of it is nasty, selfish thing to do.
What these people are facing is most likely more than you will ever have to deal with in your entire LIFE to follow, you should understand, and appreciate that.
Now, I know you're going to say it was only a picture, and you meant nothing by it, but that doesn't cut it with me - because whether or not your intent was to come across as an insensitive asshole or not, you succeeded in such.
You're just lucky Austin ISN'T here to answer this personally, grow up and get your fucking act together.
In regars to the topic...Should I have been anywhere REMOTELY nearby, I'd gladly be up in there helping all I could...unfortunately, all I can do is donate $50 next week, and each week to follow,to the charities collecting on behalf of the effected area. You guys are making some very nice efforts over there, and I'm happy to see there are still SOME people looking out for others in this world.

@Slasherman- Fuck you to the fullest extent. Thousands of people have died, people's lives are completely shattered, people are stranded in water up to their necks barely surviving, infants are being separated from their parents, children are alone and starving in a flooded and destroyed city that I like many others loved. It wasn't the greatest place on earth but it was damn good and now it's been utterly destroyed and you some how find that funny, you find some kind of sick humor in the pain, suffering and hardship of people, notice I didn't say other people the reason being because no matter how dark their humor maybe,no matter how cruel a person maybe,no matter how selfish a person maybe at some point a human shows compasion for his fellow man but you just find this catastrophic disater that's effecting millions of lives whether you're stuck somewhere in New Orleans waiting for food and water in complete misery or you're a guy somewhere in Florida who's gotta pay even more ridiculous of a price for gas to get to work everyday. No matter the scale of your...let's call it fucked upness...it's effecting millions of people and you somewhere in your sick piece of shit mind find it to be a fucking joke. I don't wish any sort of pain on anyone but there's exceptions to everything and on you I wish the absolute worst.
@Moderaters- I apologize but I had to say it, if I have to be banned that's fine you're just doing what you have to do. Since the rules have started to be strictly enforced I haven't crossed the line so a strike would be nice but like I said if you have to ban me it's cool, I'll be the noob named ScorpionSoul.

Im really glad I checked in on hdc today to see that austin posted and is still in good health.
25,000 body bags and the goverment doesn't think it will be enough. Its almost been a week since the storm hit and people are still trapped by water in their homes. Cops are killing people, people are killing cops and not for water either, its for televisions and dvds. Mean while the *NEWS* films people dying in the streets for the prime time hours. Money is not what the people of the gulf coast need, helping hands and a sense of community is all thats going to save biloxi/gulfport/new orleans.
My home is being filled with people needing a new home. With the winter months approaching I find myself wondering if I will be living in a tent this christmas along with former residents of lousiana. Gas prices are not the only thing being effected by this storm. Just imagine 25,000 + dead, floating in sewage, the mississippi and one big lake, mixing in the sun and heat on streets littered with waste and oil. I think the south will be lucky with JUST high gas prices.
haunted, the hydrogyn engine has already been invinted. It actually runs on water. The engine seperates the H from the O using the H to power the engine and the O to cool it down. You can find films of the first hydrogen car on the internet. Don't think inflating gas prices is going to change much honestly.

It was a picture used in an insensitive way, if you choose to ignore that, its on you.
I don't even live anywhere NEAR there to at least have a little compassion for what's been going on, and the good taste not to post pictures with the clear intent to evoke some kind of reaction.
I mean, why else? Act of asshole.
Would you go around holding up pictures of dead babies to a woman who'd suffered a misscarriage too? that would be "ok" to you, would it?
Now, if there's ANY morons here, its the guy that posted the picture, and the guy that's attempting to defend his decision to try offend others - and between you, if you're actually stupid enough to have convinced yourselves that you're being anything BUT assholes (without even a REASON), then you are DEFINATELY the morons in this case.
Some people didn't deserve this but most did? What for exactly?
Just wondering...IF something like this WERE to occurr in your immediate vicinity - would you be one of the people that "deserved it" or not? Going by the limited rationale you've supplied on the subject, I don't see a reason why you wouldn't.
Just say it, you're out to annoy some people, right? You wanna look like you're above it all, and that you have the right to make light of it. What gives you that right exactly?
Perhaps you don't need an attitude adjustment, and you're right on all of this - maybe the rest of us are as oversensitive as you say. Maybe you should head on down from your place of residence, and check it out first hand before dismissing the seriousness of what's going on from behind your television.
If you're still in doubt, go and talk to some people that have been through the shit you make light of...make light of it to them, to their faces. Tell those that have had their homes and livelihoods destroyed how their dead animals, family and friends deserved this to happen - PLEASE. Because if youre not going to say it to THEM, shut the godawful fuck up, you twat.
Don't EVER pass your own clear lack of sensitivity and moral solidity off as OUR problem. You're fucking damaged, the both of you...GROW UP.

I thought it might be a good idea to mention this in Forum, please support your local shelters and churches that are housing hurricane victims-supplies run out very very fast and even if it's old household goods-they HELP enormously.
Also,if you want a good organization to contribute too-
http://www.habitat.org
They do have a special donation now especially for hurricane survivors. You can also volunteer once they start the re-building process if you are able.
And I know from experience that Habitat for Humanity is trustworthy.

Please don't get burnt out on the 'help this and that, support us-no,support them'....The need for help continues and will so for some time,so if you still can contribute-please do!
Here is another very worthwhile cause for the animals-I also know from experience that this is a trustworthy group!
