I like a nice can of soda from time to time--aw, hell, every day. You may like a nice soda too, I bet. A long time ago -- late 70's? Early 80's? -- there was a brand called ASPEN, and it was an apple soda, clear, in a neat green can, and it KICKED ASS. Specially on a hot summer day. Remember this stuff, anyone?
I looked up lists of soda brand names, and apparently there is or was a soda called BAMBINO BANANA. Does this stuff exist any more? Anyone know where I can get it? Doesn't the name basically translate to "Banana Baby"?

Fantabulous site!
Ah yes....Calpis Water, a lovely mild yogurt drink that is dynamite on a hot day. "Try Happy," yes, that's appropriate. (I believe it is called Calpico in the States because Calpis sounds like "cow-piss" and no one over here wants to drink something with a name like that!) I actually used to drink Calpis water when I was a younger lad in the 70's. It went good with anime.
For a very brief time in 1989 I was in Japan on a job, and got to see some of the truly bizarre drinks they have out there...there was something known as "muscat soda" which we called "muskrat soda," and it had an entire LOVE POEM printed on the front of the can in strange, off-center English. (A "muscat love" poem?) Something about lying on the beach and awaiting love's return and my mind drifts with the ocean waves. Nothing about this poem had anything to do with soda, any soda!
We also saw many wonderful things in vending machines on the street and in shopping malls. Among them, adult magazines and bottles of vodka. I mean full-on, full-size bottles of vodka!!! I never bought one but I stared at it for a long time because the sight was just so unreal.

That rocks! I want one!
Do you guys remember when they produced college basketball team sodas? (Kpro you might more than anyone else- cause I think they might have been for our teams).
Oh, and Kpro, you belong in one of those serial killer movies that takes place at some ramshackled house with this crazy murdering family. You do know that.
So, you need to get a crazy wife, adopt a crazy grandfather (one like the old man in Redneck Rampage- "Get off m' land" pow-pow) find a crazy sister. I mean shit, you've already got an arsenal. And me and Creeper will come out and film you lure people to the house and butcher them in crazy ways. It'd be a great documentary. I'd even let you make the Oscar speach provided that you rough up Micheal Moore.

Ironically, my first experience with Anchor Bay some years ago was bad. After that it was nuthin' but good!
I had bought their VHS clamshell edition of "ZOMBIE" in widescreen and Dobby Surround. The box just made me drool. This was back in...1997 or 98? Sumpin like that. NEway. So I get it home and the damn thing is in mono. Picture looks good but I wanted that stereo! So I thought goddamn! These Anchor Bay people are wacko!
They become very questionable to me for about three minutes. When I see that logo I cringe. But...they've got too many titles out. So I buy another one (DEEP RED, I think) and it looks and sounds great. Hmm, maybe that "ZOMBIE" problem was just an accident...
NEway. It's a good number of years and many Anchor Bay purchases later, and they are my favorite label, or one of my favorites, right next to Disney. Good programs, attention to detail, nice supplements, innovative and fan-pleasing packaging.
P.S. Dobby Surround is much better than Dolby Surround. It's crisp and clear.
