I come here for a few laughs....maybe a little serious movie talk...but for the most part just to have some fun....lately it hasn't been a whole lot of fun. At my age i just don't need the added drama [ urgeok's feelings as well ]. There are a lot of great posters on here whom i would consider friends in the "real" world. I would love to get together with Shanks and zwoti and have some "proper" beers at the local pub, i really wanted to give Taylorsmommy a big hug in real life after her recent heartbreak. Maybe go "downunder" and quaff a few with Cheeb.Get together with Drac and filmmaker and have a few laughs, spend a night with Bloodrayne and show her "long flowing hair" ain't all that.[ she would kill me in a matter of minutes ] Perhaps take a short trip up north and visit Vod and family. Listen to some good music with hatebreeder or some metal with moonsorrow [ not that metal isn't good ] or maybe meet AMK and let her know that there are people who care for her and life IS good. Or i could hook up with meetthecreeper and perhaps have a beer and kill someone..jk.

Thanks newb, I truly appreciate that and feel the same toward you and about 90% of the folks here. It's ashame it's come to this. I don't think flaming the n00bs is a problem here, everyone does it including all the mods at one time or another. Most new members are smart enough to know its all in fun and our way of welcoming them. I've been here a year and haven't gortten into a beef with anyone. One member sent me a p/m and asked me to respect their wishes and I did with no problem. I'm pretty much nuetral when shit gets out of hand around here and I think I'm pretty unbiased as well. From what I've observed when the shit hits the fan around here it's usually the same people more or less who keep shit stirred up and won't let it go. And it's not just the new people, there are a few senior members in that group as well that tend to ruin it for the rest of us....They ought to make a fight forum for that group and they can stay in that forum and tell each other to fuck off all they want and keep it out of the General Forum. Anyway that's my rant. I've made some very cool friends here that I've got to know through p/m's and im's....I'm going to miss you all. Gonna miss flirting with all you hot sexy ladies of HDC and laughing my ass off at all the clever one liners y'all come up with. This place has made me bust a gut laughing many times.....but I've had it.....the place just won't be the same with all these new rules. Take care everyone. Considering huge flame wars, name calling and cussing are supposed to be against the rules in the first place, what has really changed at all ? Just because everyone had to be reminded once again when things got out of hand shouldn't lead to this lemming mentality of everyone running for the exits (especially if they want to make a scene about it). People come, people go. It's a web site. It happens.

I honestly think that people are over-reacting to these new "rules"...I mean, it's not anything nazi really, they're just preventative measures for keeping this place from exploding into yet another shit-storm...something that MOST members (including some of those those leaving/left) actually complain about.
The rules are here to keep things cool...and not much more.
It's not as though you wont be able to mix it up - it just stops when a debated point turns into a derogatory shit-slinging.
Maybe there SHOULD be a thread in which people can bring up issues/arguments with one another?

If things aren't going to be "the same" without invasions from people like Bane tolerated, and 5-page-long arguments spinning out of control, people ripping noobs a new one instead of just some friendly ball busting...then I for one don't mind.

"Do as we say and not as we do". Great double standard. That's charming. Not that it should matter since members who felt it necessary to make their dramatic exits recently seem to have returned within 24 hours as if nothing happened. The more things "change" around here, the more things stay exactly the same.
