Well, there are sooo many. TCM takes top honors with me. The original, tho I did like the remake. But a recent release that never made it theaters in wide release here in the states has worked its way into the one of my favorites category. Suspect 0 was pretty good, I thought. And I liked Taking Lives.

You liked Taking Lives and the TCM remake? And I thought you had better taste.:p

The original TCM for me as well. Se7en, Silence of the Lambs, Manhunter and Red Dragon (yep, I liked both). I don't know how many are actually considered horror. But those are the ones that come to mind.

Sometimes they are made just as good, sometimes they arent. That's what ya get.

Jenna, watch Suspect 0 and let me know what you think, even if you have to call me to tell me, k?
And yes, I thought Taking Lives was pretty good. Beat me, OK?;)

I'm not against all remakes. I just named an original and a remake in my own list...:p But the TCM remake sucked.:D I just hated it okay, sue me. Compared to the original it was a slick and completely meaningless mess that didn't even near the impact of the original...except for a couple of scenes, which just made the rest of the movie that much more disappointing.

Suspect 0 sounds faintly familiar.....I will get back to you.

Taking Lives had promise, but unfortunately there were some continuity flubs and stuff that just didn't make sense, to me anyway. I need better attention paid to detail in murder mysteries.

Oh and another one I just thought of: Jack's Back....I remember liking it quite a bit.

Okay, I'll admit it if you admit that is the only reason that you liked it.

We're getting off topic. I thought it was acceptionally good as remakes go. THANKYOU!:p

Oh the topic wasn't Jessica Biel's ass? That's too bad, because there are just not enough discussions about her ass...

Anyway, I thought the opposite. It seemed to completely miss the point of the original. But I will say that R. Lee Ermey and Jonathan Tucker did a great job.

 A bit off topic don't ya think?;) I don't want to do anything to Jonathan Tucker, thank you very much. I just think he is a fine actor. He is a bit young for my tastes.

And no, before you ask, I don't want to do anything to R. Lee Ermey either...:p

I would have to say Natural Born Killers was awesome and Bully, although not really horror related they were still good movies. Make you open your eyes to this evil ass world we're living in.

Bully was extremely unpleasant. I just felt dirty after that movie. But it certainly had an effect, I guess.

I do not want to anything to Richard Gere, R. Lee Ermey, nor Jonathan Tucker. What pattern? As usual, I have no idea what you are talking about. :p

Oh he was great, no arguing with that. And it is a good movie, but still sickening. It affected me in a very negative way and I know it was supposed to, but it is one of those kinds of movies that I can appreciate but don't want to ever, ever watch again. Never again.

Well, start making some sense already then....:p ;) There is no pattern.

Frailty is another great one I forget. And of course, Frenzy (:D ) and Psycho.
I like Scream also, Alky. It is mainstream horror, but it is a pretty violent film considering. And it is fun.

Agreed.

The part in the movie where the Tooth Fairy has Lounds, the sleezy tabloid reporter in the wheel chair, and he tears off the tape off his eyes and says to Lounds, "Here I........am."

He looks up at the guy and he's wearing pantyhose over his head. Now normally this would be funny to me, but something about the way he pauses when he says that line just makes him a believable scary character.

that Francis Dollarhyde made Finnes look like a rank amateur ..

he was the part - couldnt have been cast better ..
and Mann's command and understanding of how music can make a movie was never more acute ...

I LOVED the tiger scene ... and the jealousy scene ... great moments ...

Agree with Manhunter choice. The characters just seem more believable and real compared to the other Harris adaptions. Manhunter is way more of a headfuck, chilling movie.

its not just that - so much thought and care went into making that movie as a whole ... unlike red dragon - which was just a rush job to get the series completed with anthony hopkins as lector .. big fucking deal ..
