This isn't another horror celebrity death thread, it's for one of the best friends I have ever, or will ever have.
Nobody needs to acknowledge this, I just wanted to make a "solid" farewell of sorts.
I found out via phonecall a little while ago that my dog Loki had died, more than likely of a heart attack, he was 8 years old and in otherwise good health.
Always bold and strong, yet the kindest soul you'd ever know...taking dog, person, and even cat alike as friend - loyal, intelligent and protective over all.
We came across eachother through strange circumstances, almost as though fate had sent him my way, and he will forever be remembered as one of my own - my kinship with him was unparalleled, and will remain.
For now I suffer this burden as though a peice of me left with him, but his friendship over the years was worth more pain than I could ever endure.
My friend, my bodyguard, my brother.
I wish you nothing but everything you ever dreamed of.
You will be missed.

Aww ((((((Cheeba)))))), I'm so sorry! I know what you're going through - I lost my Siamese cat this past March. Loki was a beautiful dog, inside and out!

Our dog had a heart attack at the beach last year. Its pretty hard to deal with the immediacy of loss. You have great memories, I'm sure, and that's the joy that you bring with you through life...sorry for your loss.

Wow...thanks, all you guys n gals...
Yeah, I don't think anyone feels right after an animal death, or any death for that matter, because along with the loss of life comes the loss of "normal". This one's hitting me kinda hard, because I was closer to him than I've ever been to another pet...even the word "pet" sounds wrong...
It's WAY shitty having to go through this, and I sympathise with anyone who ever has or will...but I have to stand by my statement that the friendship is worth so much more.
Anyways, thankyou all for your thoughts.

Results came in.
His heart was not in the BEST condition, but it wasn't completely fucked, nowhere near. He was healthy.
The local vet where he was said it looked like someone had poisoned him, allegedly, there has been many recent occurences of this. The kind of people that would do this are without doubt the worst kind of scum...if they're caught, I hope they're jailed for this act, murdering fucking scum.
I can only hope he wasn't in too much pain.
This just makes it all seem so much worse...sickening filth...WHY?

Urg, it's norse. Half brother of Thor, known as a trickster and yes, the "god of mischeif".
I only know this due to the events that take place in the comic "the avengers" since way back when.
I liked the character, and yeah, named the dog after him, WAY prior to the release of Dogma.
Another trivial movie fact is supposedly the mask in "the mask" was representative of Loki in design...says something to that effect during the film anyway.
Thanks again people...I just hope they find the fucks that did this. According to the local vetrinarian, there has been many frequent incidents of random animal baiting in the area, Loki was unfortunately one of their targets.
I KNEW he wasn't unhealthy enough to just die like that, although knowing how doesn't make it any easier. It's a gross, disgusting and inhuman act, and they should be killed for it.
I miss my dog...it sucks...

That makes me really sad to hear about. Very sorry. Best wishes to you and your family pet. I lost one pet a while ago, and he was a real good creature, just like a person. Saying a prayer for the little one.

nice troll.
8/10.
Sorry to here about your dog. I understand how you feel...I like dogs better than people to begin with (They don't lie, and if they don't like you, you will definately know it).
I had a Chocolate Lab named Ripley. She was only 1 1/2 yrs. old when she was dignosed with diabetes and at the same time needed surgery for a blockage. After paying nearly $2000.00 in Vet bills, she still ended up being put to sleep. It was rougher than hell on me.

Damn, that was young...My gf's brother is going through a similar situation...they have a young black lab, and have found out that he's got displaced hips, and itll most likely require HUGE amounts of surgery that only MAY work....fucked up.
As for my dog thing, yeah...it saddens me, but I'm ok now.
Got m'self a new rat, and he's a pretty cool little guy.
