Watching some TV today, and a trailer came on for a new Wes Craven film called "RED EYE".
Apparently it takes place on a plane...it really didn't look that great to me....kinda lame actually....but I was wondering if any of you had heard of it yet or what your thoughts were...I couldn't really tell if it was a horror film or not...they tried to make it seem like it was though.

I read this movie is really suspenseful and terrifying, thats all i could really get out of it from people that have seen advanced screenings, no ones said anything bad about it so i dunno. But its Wes Craven, it should be half decent. Doesnt sound like a horror plot though.

Probably named after the common symptom of anyone who managed to stay awake through 'They'.

It might be interesting. I do like Cillian Murphy and I used to be a huge Wes Craven fan (well I still am, I love his early films). But the trailer didn't exactly grab me either. Disappointed by yet another PG-13 rating....*sighs*. Anyway, no it isn't a horror film, sounds more like suspense to me.

I thought the trailer looked good. I don't see it being a horror film. Wes is stepping outside the box I think.

I don't know... that trailer looks fucking awful. I am a big Cillian Murphy fan...
It has already got great reviews on imdb.com
So who knows.

ShankS- Doesnt sound like it. This doesnt seem very supernatural.

..so its bad.....have seen "They" in the videostore....have been close to renting it....but guess I wont afterall...seems you hate it like I hate "May
I think its weird how films seem to come out in pairs - like Armageddon and Deep Impact - so now there's the Jodie Foster on a plane film - Flight Plan - and the Wes Craven on a plane film - Red Eye. WTF?? Do they have spies at different studios running around screaming "THEY'VE GOT A PLANE FILM - - -WE'VE GOT TO HAVE ONE TOOOOOO!!!"

I think that might be pretty much how it works...lol. For instance, I find it very amusing that Dr. Strangelove and Fail Safe were released the same year (I'm right about that aren't I? Too lazy to look it up).

I think it looks like another Craven blow-up. Sure, I'll rent it when it comes out on video. But I'm not waisting another $20 on a Craven flick this year. Cursed was enough!

Rachael McAdams from that Mean Girls flick is in it, so I'll watch.
She is hooooot.

Jenna you are correct. Dr. Strangelove and Fail Safe were released the same year. I'd have to nod more towards Dr.Stranglove myself. Peter Sellers was robbed of an Oscar, fucking H'Wood!

That's pretty cool. I'd definately try and go if you have a chance...better than your "average" night out at the theatre :)
I mean, if you're going to pay like $75 or whatever it costs to take a family to a movie now-a-days....;) Might as well get something extra out of it.

I can't believe I actually got that right. I think they are both great films. But Dr. Strangelove is one of my favorites.

Have to give it a chance guys :)
Yes Cursed was absolute shit. But Wes is a good director and he probably went well with this thriller, he did well on Scream and Scream 2

It's just impossible to tell how good a movie is going to be from a trailer...And you can't really go by what other people think about it, because everyone has a different idea about what is considered 'good' and what isn't...You always just have to see a movie for yourself...
This may be great, and it may suck...But, I'll be buying it :)

This movie is more of a suspense than a horror film. Nothing gory or very violent happens. It's a decent movie, but if you want death and guts and freakiness, this ain't it. If I was gonna compare it to anything it would be Phonebooth. Not as cool as phonebooth though.

I clipped my toenails yesterday and I'm sure that's more interesting than Phonebooth.

I guess I just have an appreciation for that movie since they managed to make a movie in one location interesting. This movie, kinda the same, but it did have a certain level of cheesiness as a whole... I don't want to give anything away though.
