has anyone ever bought any those collections i'm always seeing at best buy? they usually consist of ten movies on five dvds, most of which i've never heard of, and run anywhere from 7 to 15 bucks. i'm sure that given the price the quality is probably terrible, and the movies themselves are most likely bottom of the barrel suck shows. but for seven bucks i'd think that even if just 2 or 3 of the movies are okay it would be worth it.

Based on that theory right there I bought one. That estimation is about right on. Out of the 10, there was two really cool ones and two that were entertaining but not great. The rest sucked and like half of them were made for tv (so there was really no gore.)
But yeah, I bought one. It's okay...

Those collections...well, they're not for everyone. But they are for some.
Those collections are expecially good for ya if ya like really old, weird public domain crap. If you like cheesy old movies that most people run screaming from, then perhaps they're up your alley.
I bought a collection of 50 science fiction films. There's at least 10 or 15 decent crappy old films in there, maybe more. There's a Don Dohler flick (always a good thing), there's "The Wild Women of Wongo," there's "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians," "Zontar," "Phantom from Space," "The Astral Factor," "Teenagers from Outer Space" (outstanding!!!) and more. It was like 20 bucks. I haven't given it away yet, and it's been a couple of months.
Plus, they all came in a nice little box with cardboard envelopes, each contains a DVD with 4 or 5 movies. Very compact. At least all that cheesy goodness isn't taking up much space!
I have bought a couple of those the the 2 i have got like 4 movies on them the one dvd is Circus of Death the other is Tales from the Boneyard. they have some alright movies on them.

I have bought many of these 10 movies in a set deal. Usually I end up thinking about 2 or 3 of the movies are good. Depending on what you like, I suppose.

I sing the praises of the "Horror Classics 50 movie pack". Sure, some of em suck. Sure, if you're any kind of horro9r collector, you'll have a few of the movies already [NotLD, for example]. But it's full of great, cheesy, old horror "classics". It kicks ass! The Movies range from some of the best ever made [Night of the Living Dead, Last Man on Earth] right through to some among the best-of-the-worst [Attack of the Giant Leeches, The Brain that Woouldnt Die]
Ive seen it in stores for aound $45 CDN, but I got mine off Ebay for $15 CDN:D....Some of the best money Ive ever spent on movies!
