Ok, im having a pool party and were going to watch movies after we go in the pool... I need really good horror movies. American Werewolf in London wasnt that great, I actually found it kinda stupid. I hope I can convince my dad to rent The Shinning. Oh another thing, we're going to tell scary stories and yes I know that this isn't the right place for it but if anyone has any good stories or links to good stories then let me know. The party is this wednesday.
What should i bring?

haha, very funny. im serious about this i really need to know!!
Jaws might be fun for a pool party.
Dawn of the Dead remake...could be a problem if your dad won't let you rent The Shining.
Shaun of the Dead is a fun movie.
Frightnight....good cheesy popcorn movie that dad might not object to.

You didn't like A.A.W.I.L.?! Get rid of that avatar right now. This is an outrage.
The Shining is the best horror movie ever made, hands down, so thats an obvious winner there. I'd also reccomend, because it sounds like you're a newbie at horror movies, the following:
-Halloween
-Dawn of the Dead (1978)
-Night of the Living Dead (1968)
-Scream
-The Amityville Horror (1979)
-The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
- Friday the 13th

first of if you need your dads aproval to rent the shining, you shouldnt be asking us for movie recomendations( alot of us are pretty sick in the head, read the tread on our worst death ideas).
second how new are you to horror films and how old are you.
third it all depends on your guest taste in films, i mean if you have some weak friends they might not like some movies, and if you have some hardcore horror fans there not gonna want to watch some shity film.
as for stories i recomend horror practicl jokes there more fun.
i recomend you have all your guest bring a horror film, just make sure they all dont bring copies of TCM and the shining.

proper party material are also....
* Nightmare on Elm Street
* Evil dead
* Braindead
* Hellraiser (parts I&II)
* The Last Horror Movie
and if you really want to disturb your guests then...
* I stand Alone
* Irrevérsible
* Schramm
Or if you want something lighter I recommend:
* Meet the Feebles
* The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Pool Party? You gotta get CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, this is the only classy horror flick for a pool party.
JAWS is good too, but I don't wanna acknowledge it because it wasn't my suggestion, of course, and only my suggestions are good, no one else's.
You didn't like AWIL? GTFOOH! You are kidding me!

Really!!! What insanity is this? :p
I agree with these recommends: Jaws, The Evil Dead (1 and 2), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre ('74), Creature from the Black Lagoon, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and original Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of Dead and Day of the Dead.
Also recommended: Freaks('32), Dead Alive, and Videodrome....movies I always have great fun with. But then I love An American Werewolf in London.

you should think of and tell your own stories instead of just ripping one off.

Watch these movies, in order:
Night Of The Living Dead
Twitch Of The Death Nerve
Black Christmas
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Deep Red
Halloween
The Shining
Friday The 13th
The Thing
Evil Dead
A Nightmare On Elm Street
Hellraiser
Tell your dad the real world is much more violent than any movie, give him the guilt trip. Then be prepared for the best night of your life.

Wow, Ok first things first... I said I thought that AWIL was good but when you think about it it's kinda stupid. Sorry for spelling "Shining" wrong. I think AWIP is a lot better, I actually got scared. I'm socked that no one mentioned the Blair Witch Project. We ended up watching that.
