THe other nite I was watching American Werewolf in London and a thought occured to me.

What is a werewolves thought process.

Is it canine thoughts? Human thoughts? Is one part going "I gotta pee on this hydrant" and another part going " I cant believe I am pissing on a hydrant."

I would just like to know what is going on behind the physical aspect and what changes are taking place in the mind.

WHat I really want is to get to know them on an emotional level so the next time I come across one I know how to feel his/her pain or lack thereof.

I wouldn't worry about him, Creeper.

Nice topic. Perhaps the human aspect of their mind won't let them pee on a hydrant (since you first used that colorful example:D ), but the wild canine mind is too strong to have them say...make sure they were behind a bush.

If a werewolf held more of a human mind, do you think it would attack and kill human beings? It's hard to say, and I would bet it'd vary from moon to moon.

most of the movies lead you to believe that they blackout and become completely feral, not remembering a thing they do when they are in wolf form..

except dracula of course .. who knows everything he's doing - even as a bat.

i think its funny that he turns into a bat... little mouse with wings.

I would think it would be more animalistic than human in terms of the thought process. I'm remembering that moment in Wolf when Jack Nicholson in pissing on the men's room floor because he's marking his territory.

I watched "The Island of Dr. Moreau" yesterday (the latest version), and that ties in with this a little bit. The beasts on the island wound up not taking the serum that would stop their regression into animals, because they didn't believe in "the law" of walking on 2 feet and not killing animals.

One would think, if given the choice, someone would choose animal over man. At least I would.

No worries, I prefer Ritz and cheez whiz.

I think the canine aspect of the minds blood thirst would far outweigh the human.

I thought of it this way, I am a werewolf, now do I run thru the woods and chase a deer for 30 miles and get so tired from running that by the time I catch the deer I am too tired to even eat.

Or do I go to a local park and attack some schmuck sitting on a park bench playing Solitare on his laptop.

Besides all that there is no way the canine aspect of the mind could overcome the human aspect of the minds obssession with fast food.:D

Canine mind thinks, yum this guy taste like chicken. Human mind thinks I cant believe that humans taste like chicken.

Better yet if I was a Werewolf I would just wander around the dog park, wag my tail at a few unsuspecting folks and then devour them behind the bushes after they try to make me fetch their damn frisbee.

LMFAO

Why does a werewolf lick his balls???

Because he can.

And I would do it on the living room floor in front of company.

I have no shame.

I thought it'd be like a ultra sped-up version of the Fly's transformation in The Fly '86. When the change begins, you are aware and afraid, as it continues you begin to embrace it, then in the final stage you become completly as the wolf....then you lick your balls and piss on fire hydrents:p

That's funny, hellboy.

I've not seen anyone post the simple fact that wolves, by nature, will not attack humans (unless they are unbelievably desperate), so why would a werewolf? See that might be where the human mind comes in. It associates with human society. The werewolf, is going to driven to food at some point in her metamorphosed state. human mind+wolf mind= humans fair game.

What do you guys think?

See, now that's probably true but movies tend to take it towards killing people because it looks cool to the audience. I'm sure if werewolves existed, once the transformation happened the brain would operate solely on animalistic instincts.

Thats true about films, but a humans instinct is all about survival.

ANy human in an extreme situation would kill another human to survive.

I dont think I know of any other creature on earth that can be so brutal to its own kind. Except maybe chimpanzees.

Haunted is right, wolves in the wild avoid and fear people. Maybe they know something we dont. I think what makes a werewolf a killer of humans is the human aspect of the werewolf mind.
