This is coming from a person who thinks.....

1.Audition
2.Ichi The Killer
3.Wait Until Dark
7.Misery
8:Cujo
9:When a Stranger Calls

are six of the 10 best horror movies ever.

p.s.
Your sarcasm is much worse than his humor.

WaitxUntilxDark

fuc* you. And what's wrong with my choices. I do admit when a stranger calls is a little bit bad, but in my defense it had a good opening and i'm going to change it aftre some research :p
You're crazy if you think audition isn't scary. Ichi the killer wasn't so much scary as it was just gut wrenching. Wait Until Dark has that scene, and if you use your mind and put yourself in ehr shoes, when he's coming after her it's terrifying. Kathy bates was abosultely terrifying and the hobbling scene. The size of cujo and his relentlesness scared me.

AUSTIN316426808
07-20-2005, 06:06 AM
They're your opinion and you're entitled to it.....

Audition isn't scary it's just gross

Misery isn't scary at all what so ever it just has that one scene that makes you cringe, big deal.

Ichi isn't scary just violent

Wait Until Dark has this one scene you always mention that is like I've said before predictable, It's obvious that he's about to come after her...I didn't know he was going to leap like he did but big deal...instead of running he jumped. I'm not supposed to have to put myself in her shoes for it to be scary.

Cujo is a dog...nuff said.

When A Stranger Calls didn't exactly scare me but did creep me out but come on 9th best horror film ever...I don't think so.

You have your opinions I have mine and to be honest no movie has ever truely scared me except the Exorcist and Halloween and I'm more than sure the fact that I was only 5 when I saw them had something to do with it.

urgeok
07-20-2005, 06:18 AM
cujo was one of the worst excuses for horror i had ever seen - but then again i'm not afraid of dogs ... especially big slobbering ones like that...

but - to each his own i guess ....

(i thought Misery was crap too)

hmmm i sense a connection there ...

I don't even like calling them his movies since he doesn't actually make them, I know the story comes from him but it's been proven that you can take a story from one of his books that are good and screw it up on film.

Making a book good and making a movie good are two very different things and it's obvious that he can't make a good film or even a half way decent film for that matter. So to me whoever the director is that's who's film it is...screw King.

I've already said I'm going to take off When a stranger calls. Misery the film didn't exactly scare me but kathy bates did. i guess is should say kathy bates in misery scared me. Ichi didn't scare me but i couldn't watch it.
I only put Cujo, because when i first made the list a few moths ago cujo creeped me out a little and it had the scene when he jumps at the car. I see the errors of my ways.
I'll redo the list in a few minutes.

A book I just read made the case for the ten most 'important' (which is clearly different than 'best') horror films of all time. They were:
Dracula (1931)
The Thing from Another World (1951)
Psycho (1960)
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
The Exorcist (1973)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
Halloween (1978)
Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Scream (1996)
The Sixth Sense (1999)

It made a pretty good case for them - though I dont' really think Silence is horror and I never cared or the Sixth Sense that much.

of course I can't be sure about this but it seems like he just saw that show on VH1(100 scariest movie moments) and got way too influenced.

first of all the countdown was on bravo, not vh1, and it didn't influenceme. Although, the moment from cujo should have been higher. Also, the moment from when a stranger calls had me pulling on my hair, so it should have definetly(i know that's not the right spelling...i think anyway) been higher, in my opinion.

i know, it's just that i hadn't changed my list in about a year and i rewatched some of the movies and they didn't have the same impact i remember. but i'm going to blockbuster hopefully tomarrow and i can see some more foreign horror like Ringu. I also need to see the non watered down version of suspira(don't watch films on the independent film channel they get extremely watered down, but sundance film channel doesn't.)
Oh, and the girl who played Gogo Ubari in "Kill Bill: Volume 1, was in Ju-on: The Grudge. I forget who she was. Could someone please remind me.
i'm to afraid to see Salo. it's sounds to disturbing and disgusting.

WaitxUntilxDark it sounds like your a pretty big fan of Takashi Mikke, with Audition and Ichi The Killer. So Im sure youve heard of Gozu, this was one of my favorite films by this director. It disturbed me a great deal but i still loved it like crazy. I deffinantly suggest you should get this one, I believe you can get it at Best Buy, thats where i got mine. Some people will dissagree with my opinion of Gozu, lots of people dont like it. And if you havnt already dont waste your time on Takishi Miike's "MPD Psycho" movies. Thier not that fun compared to his others.....

i've heard the expression a million times, but according to the dictionary, it's something to do with a bell.
