What are some of your favorite decapitations from a horror movie?

Mine's a tie...

The Omen - David Warner gets it by a sheet of glass. For its time, this just amazed me and was very well thought out.

Wrong Turn - Although not exactly a decapitation, this is one of the most brilliant film deaths in the history of horror movies. From the moment the axe hit the young woman in the face, to the head sitting on the axe and the body toppling over tree branches to the floor below, I was just astonished. Great scene.

I'M NOT SURE IF IT COUNTS AS A DECAPITATION SEEING AS THOUGH HER HEAD DID'NT COMPLETELY COME OFF BUT WRONG TURN WHEN THEY WERE UP IN THE TREE AND THAT CLASSIC THEATER MOMENT WHEN SHE'S STANDING THERE AND HE POPS UP ON THE SIDE OF HER AND THEN HITS HER WITH THE AXE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF HER FACE AND THEN THE BODY RIPS APART FROM THE TOP OF THE HEAD.

in halloween h20 when jamie lee curtis chops of michaels head when hes stuck between the branch and the van, i liked it because he was reaching out to her in a not so im a demonic psycho but in a im your brother and i love you way and you think shes gonna grab his hand and WACK! michaels head hits the ground

ya i know it was the emt's head, but when i saw it the first time i didnt know that and i was devistated. i thought that would be the last halloween movie. thats y its my favorite decapation, its not only twisted (when you thought that was michael and he was reaching for his sister and she chops his head off he was showing affection and she killed him) but seemed like the end of a great series especially because it was about 5 years maybe? before they made another halloween movie

The scene in "Idle Hands" where Anton's friend is running up the basement stairs... Anton picks up a sawblade and frisbees it at him while his friend is yelling "come on Anton, everything's gonna be..." then the sawblade slices through his neck, his head bounces down the stairs, and when it lands, his head says "cool"...A little later in the movie they get tired of watching him carry his head around so they jab a two-tined fork in it, shove the other end of the fork into his throat, and wind duct tape around his neck to keep stuff (like his burrito filling) from seeping out!!!

day of the dead shovel. that shit was fucking dope.
legend of sleepy hollow. where the farmer fights the horseman and get his head chooped off next to the mantel piece. good twin axe choreography. though that film is full of great head lopping.
most cinematic decap goes to braveheart. at the end. fucking powerful.

elevator scene in resident evil, first, goes down, right before the chick would get cut in half, it stops, she's releved, then the elevator goes op...splash, you didn't actually see it though, but the idea was cool, together with the yeah, o no, it stops, yeah again

I LOVE that shovel decapitation! I also like the one in Day Of The Dead where that guy gets his head slowly ripped off by some zombies, and you can hear his vocal chordes stretching...great scene.

The half cap in WT was cool, but my favorite is from an old movie, the name escapes me, where a steel gurter flys through this womans winshield and cuts her head off, it might have been the Omen or something I dont remember.

this is not really a decapitation but a head is taken off so that is all that matters.... the scene on deadly friend when the chick throws the basketball and smashes the old bitches head... fucking awesome....!!!

Although it's one of the less liked 'Friday the 13th' movies, the part in 'Jason takes Manhattan' where Jason uppercuts the head of some guy, was pretty cool.

I've got 2...

*Scream 2, when the 2 girls are in the cop car, and the killer attacks them, they crash, and some steel girder thing goes right through his head, you don't see too much, but it's cool...

*Jeepers Creepers, again a cop! I thought the scene where the creeper landed on the roof of the cop car, pulled the cops head up through the roof, swings his axe out and chops the head off was a pretty good de-cap...you don't see a great deal, but you see enough...I thought this whole scene was done very well....it rocked....and so did the part where they kept running the creeper over later in the movie....shit, I never laughed so hard...

Friday The 13th - Mrs. Voorhees gets the machete.
Jeepers Creepers 2 - The "dance" was just hilarious.
Interview With The Vampire - You think she's gonna die by a fire...but good ole Brad comes up and gets her with a sickle.
Sleepy Hollow - The one where the dude gets ripped out the church window and then his head chopped off between some fence posts.
Hobbs End - You don't see it, but when he holds up the head, freaking awesome! Great scene.

in battle royale when the kid with the glasses gets attacked by the nasty 'transfer' student (derath by sword) and then the kid takes his head and puts a grenade in it and blows up part of the house... i think it's hilarious how he uses his instincts to break the window by using the guys head...

Yeah that was a great decapatation. That goes to show don't try to beat Jason in a boxing match lol.:rolleyes:

Has anyone noticed how quite a few death sequences involve someone getting the part of their heads between the lips cut off?

Examples...

Carly's axe head-split in Wrong Turn.
The captain's wire demise in Ghost Ship.
Billy's metal sheet kill in Final Destination.

not sure if it would count but the only good scene in Ghost Ship...Mass decapitation....The captian(i think) that was dancing with the little girl was pretty awesome.

I'm not sure if its decapatation but he head got crushed pretty damn well. I'm talking about that scene in Scream when the blonde chic tries to climb out the cat flap in the garage and the killer raises the door and it crushes her head.

Its not a horror flick at all, but still the best decap of all time....Gladiator, when maximus sticks the two swords in the guys chest, looks at him fer a second, then takes em out and lops off his head w/ a scissors motion. Oh, and horror wise, i thought when jamie lee curtis decapped "michael myers" (I quote that bc it wasnt him) in H20.

One that sticks out in my memory is in "audition" when she walks up behing the old guy playing piano, wraps razor sharp wire around his neck and wrenches his head off with a sharp tug.

My favorate is tied between two Wrong turn:(seinario) girl in tree mest up looking guy be hind her in tree, axe, head sits on axe, body falls, looking at the girls eyes why the life drains out, (great movie, wouldnt recommend eatting why watching), second favorate is in Thirteen Ghosts (seinario) Guy walking in basement, steals money, see ghosts let ghosts out, looking at ghosts glass comes down, looks like nothing happeaned, front of body slides down glass, back of body slides down glass, These were great parts of the movies.:D
