View Full Version : sometimes work is good
I know Vod has had a bad few days regarding work an' all, so I thought I'd share a good day.
Today is Friday July 1 and, due to the fact that I work in a "Union Shop" I am off work for the July 4th holiday for a total of NINE DAYS...WITH FULL PAY!!!!!!!!! (sorry for yelling...got excited).
Gotta love Unions. It is officially Bud Light time!!!!

The "largest Hugely successful auto supplier in the world" Delphi Electronics and Safety. It used to be GM, but now....ohhh boy! Put it this way, the stock is currently cheap to buy. Sure the pay is excellent and the benefits are good, but when you work in the Auto industry, always expect fickle and hope for the best....but no matter what you do, always be prepared to get laid....I mean laid-off...and have another avenue of employment thought out.
Oh, and as far as plans, well I some damn manual labor to attend to at the homestead, but I also have 5 "parties" I will be partaking in, as well as the bud light. Yeah, I said Bud light. If you've been drinking for as long as I have and as much in one setting like I usually end up doing, you gotta be able to cut the fat somehow or I wouldn't be able to reach the bar. I can't drink tequila or wiskey anymore (I tend to like to fight if I do that, and because I am now 41 years old, I don't heal up like I used to) and Rum and vodka gives me one hell of a hangover. So I'll just stay with good ol' fashioned Bud light and a few kicker shots to get me going. It's rough getting old.

And...Sometimes work sucks...Dustin works at the airport (security checks on planes and stuff)...So, he has to work all of the holidays, too....

Working on holidays is lame. Even getting paid time and half doesn't do much to cushion the blow. (I'm at work right now! Can you tell that I'd rather not be?)
