I'm wondering, when do you think DVDs will become obsolete?

I just hope i'm dead when that happens. I still want to have access to my collection when I'm 80.

Wow that's a lot. Do you think whatever machine reads the next formats will also allow you to play DVDs tough?

arent they releasing the BlueRay in the new PS3? I read an article online a few months ago that talked about it, and I believe they said you would be able to play your old DVD's and playstation games in it, but couldnt play the new media *blue ray discs* in the older systems.

Hmm I don't know when they'll become obsolete. But I definitely know that I will be getting a PS3!

With all the reluctance to switch from VHS to DVD, I doubt DVD will ever be totally obsolete. Whatever the next gen type thing is, the players will probably still be able to play DVDs
