i'm going through somewhat of a nostalgia stage right now and still can't decide between two seperate film collections. i can't make up my mind whether to purchase the chucky collection or the friday the 13 th collection. most people i ask don't seem to lean more towards one than the other so i figured who better to ask.
also i've been looking for a compiled set of halloween and the howling if anyone knows where i might look a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

hmmmm......
save your money - the Phantasm box set is coming out soon.
i think bootleg versions of the Halloween set are occasionally sold on ebay - dont know about the Howling though ..
those movies get pretty bad as they go ..

they started off okay but did get shittier more into the series
still the familiarity of something one grew up on creates a longing besided most horror flicks these days aren't much better although there is the rare exception from time to time.
If i was to choose between those two, i would go with Friday the 13th.
The Chucky movies never scared me at all. I figure anything i can kill with a tennis racket can't be too scary.
hmmmmm....where did i hear that before?

Depends if you like quality over quantity. IMO, the 2 first Child Play's are memorable and the others aren't really good. Why not buy those 2 (or whichever you like) then get the Friday the 13th box set and build on from there on both collections? that's what I did since both box sets do not include all movies.
I think the only Child's Play box set available covers movies 2-4.

What's this now?? PHANTASM box set? Where'd you hear about this? Who's putting it out? How much will it cost? What's it gonna have? PHANTASM box set??? Did I hear that correctly?
I don't really have any interest in the PHANTASM box set, I'm just sort of casually curious.

yeah, but that $1000 saving budget is gona get used up, the next time you have a relapse, and find you've lost control.

at the very least the chucky collection excludes seed of chucky which was extremly stupid! but also leaves out the first one which i love.
on the other hand f13 excludes jason goes to hell and jason x
both of which i also hated but on the plus side contains all the ones i loved and ones i can tolerate.

Child's Play- 1 good movie 4 shitty ones
Friday the 13th- 1 great movie, 1 ok movie and 8 shitty ones
I'd personally just pre order the Phantasm box set

It took a crazy turn from the mood and look of the original, which was fine cuz it was a fun movie, but it was definitely the start of the Child's Play lanslide.

But Phantasm = 0 good movies and 4 shitty ones. (I passionately HATE that series, as anyone that's been around here for any amount of time can vouch for.)
Friday The 13th > Child's Play. You shouldn't have even needed to ask.
Re: A Halloween boxed set... We can only dream. The rights for those films are all owned by different studios (3 or 4 in all) so it's not very likely that we'll ever get one of those! (Although I'd be the first one at best Buy the morning they opened on the day it came out if they ever did make one.)
P.S. I just bought the Leprechaun 'Pot of Gore' box set. It's pretty cool, but it came outbefore Back 2 the Hood, so I still need to go pick that one up.
Urge, that's an impressive media collection. I wish I had nice shelving like that at my house! All my shit's boxed up in the basement. I rotate what box I keep out and watching, but it'd be really nice to be able to access it all at once.

its a bit crazy - as newb said - thats just one wall .. there are about 4 more... and those dvd shelves are all 2 deep now (the vhs are 3 deep) so nothing is as accessable as it looks .. i STILL have to dig for anything.
p.s.
you bought the leprechaun series and diss Phantasm ..

I, for one, am actually excited about this Phantasm box set. Loved the original and Oblivion was a helluva fun sequel. I just need to find out when it comes out. Anybody know?

Shit! I was hoping it'd be out in time for my b-day. I was gonna buy it for myself. Well, guess I'll have to wait till' Christmas. Or just save up my money and pre-order it. Whichever one I do first. Thanks!
