I need to vent....

Some asshole came down to our office a little while ago and just sat and stared at us for a while. It turns out (when he finally got off his ass) that he had requested some obscure software and wanted to know who was going to get it for him.

I told him that the people who would take care of it for him would process the email. he wanted to know who "they" were.. I told him "The other two people in here, nnot me, im a developer, i dont deal with requests."

Now, it is clearly marked on the door to our office that walk ins are not allowed, call first then come bug us if we tell you to. he apparently thinks he is mo0re important than that.

As it turns out, the software he asked for was so he could work from home, becauser the dumb fuck left his godamn laptop there.

So he apparently understood that he wasnt getting shit from me and had a seat. Finally, someone who may have actually been able to help him ggets off the phone, and he tells him that he can email a request for astatus, but that is all he can do, sorry, but get lost.

So the dickhead wants to know who would be giving him the software, and gets told that is confidential, there is no way you will be given that.

So he made a smart ass remark about it being a well oiled machine and left.

So my attitude was fuck him.

He comes back a few minutes later saying he asked around and was sorry, he will go through proper channels. He said he was under the assumption we were "aces" who could help him, and based on the other people's comments, that wasnt the case, we obviously couldnt.

Now, none of the other guys in here seemed to get what he was saying, but i did. Basically, we are low-end nobodies who couldnt help him if we wanted to.

I sat quitely in my chair, because although i hate thi sjob, i dont really want an assault charge following me, because i was about to punch the fucker.

I'm seriously considering leaving work for the day because i am not able to calm down on this. I am so fucking tired of the arrogant cocksuckers that work here, especially since i know my boss is a fucking pussy who wont do shit about it.

I seriously have not been this fucking enraged in years.....

If i already had something lined up, i would walk. no notice, it sucked working with you people, go fuck yourself, bye.

The world is full of assholes like that. Its how we deal with them that defines who we are.You clearly wanted to deck him...but you didn't..which makes you a better person.Just because he is a dick shouldn't ruin the rest of your day.

What you need is a bazooka.

Seriously... That's awful. I've had jobs where I had to deal with people like him. Instead of the person being lazy, they were usually just really really wealthy and expected everyone at their beck and call.

Vod, I hope the rest of your day goes much better. Try as much as you can not to think about it and not to let it get to you.

We're here if you need to talk.:)

i think the fact that this bullshit happens and not only can i do nothing, but those who can wont.

It also reminds me that even though i have sent out my (sparkling) resume 30 time sin the past 2 weeks, i have had a meager 3 calls, two of them were for the same place (different recruiting agencies hiring for the same position in the same company) and the other was for a job with a 2 hour commute....

I am getting very discouraged and insanely frustrated.

Oh Goddess, I know how you feel. I don't even have a lucrative job. I'm sitting on my ass, and I don't like it. Our generation is having these problems, you know. For instance, my mom got an extremely well paying job without going to college (however, my mom is an extremely shrewd and knowledgeable business woman).

Now, they want experience. I spent years in college. I worked at the fucking library, because I didn't want to compromise my education. Here I sit, inexperienced with a BA in Religious Studies...with which I intended to go to granduate school until I found out that it would put me in the hole for 25,000$.

Oi!

Now you've gotten me started, Vod.:D

sorry to start any fires... Apparently i misheard hsi aces comment, which is good for him, and ihe actually sent an apology to one of my co workers, but i still want to punch him.

I did a lot of lifting this weekend so my arms are tight. I would probably break his jaw.

Goddamn i want to hurt something.

It's amazing how people think they can talk to you when you work in retail(this is why I'm glad I have the boss I do, or I would have been fired about 5 years ago), we were so busy last week and some bitch had JUST walked up to my counter. I was processing and Teresa was helping customers, Teresa told Bitch that she would be right with her because she was with someone else...So Bitch looks at me, a dirty bitch look might I add, and she could clearly see that I had about 50 full negative strips in my hand I was trying to sort thru. I guess she expected me to throw them on the floor and run over to her, and I didn't...So Bitch yells "OH FUCK YOU" and starts to walk off. I was just like" Fuck you too, BITCH" and went on with my business. I wouldn't have even helped if she did come back after that...The Bitch

...then run.

I'm working in the interest of your mental health here. Think about it...you store all this up, and one day, someone will say something about software, and you'll bust their teeth before you even know you've done it.

You guys should try working in an auto repair shop.

Customers already think they are getting ripped off, plus they are usually still making payments on the car they are driving.

Then when you tell them they have to spend 100 bucks to have it looked at they aint too happy.

"Cant you just hook it up to the machine?" How many times have I heard that before. I want one of those magic machines that tells all thats wrong with the car. Where do I get one???

You just changed my spark plugs and now my headlite is out, you must of done something to my car, it wasnt like that when I brought it in here. Asshead they aint related.

Fuckers. I spent close to 30k on fuckin tools and about 5k a year on more tools and dont get me started on the continuing education that I have to have to keep up with the technology.

Great now I am pissed off.

Sometimes I just want to take a flamethrower to this place.

Just a rant I had to do it. I go out of my way to help people that I work with that lets say dont really have the skills required to be a technician, and then when its time to return the favor its a big 'Fuck you Creeper'

Well lets just say those days are over.

Need my help diagnosing that drivability problem? Your on your own buddy.

Plus the other thing is I have to be fake to management. That drives me quite insane, as I was never any good at it. What you see is what you get, but I am learning.

Actually I need Lynchburg Lemonade in an IV in one arm and to get jacked up in the other. Maybe that would calm me down a bit.

Lucky for them I restrain myself, but for how long???

Maybe a mass cursing is in order.

Slip the needle in yeah....

Slip the needle in yeah.... jobs suck when there is no team work, sometimes I get so frustrated at the lack of support that I have to go to the car to 'change my head'. There was one restraunt where they let us drink while we worked. Really the only reason we were allowed to was because you could catch managment doing it at any point in the night. If god didn't love us then she wouldn't have given us the idea to ferment fruit or the dexterity to take care of fragile yet hearty plants.

People like this can't get to you unless you let them...Why give them that much power?...You don't owe them anything...

If I ever even give these people a second thought, it usually just tends to resemble something like sympathy...You know, like sometimes I might feel sorry for them because they're stuck being such ignorant assholes, and sometimes I just think they're mildly amusing...Mostly it's something like, "Okay, whatever, have fun with that..."...They always embarass themselves...

I guess I just don't pay much attention to people like that, really...It's no skin off my nose...

I just have this overwhelming desire to show them through brute force how unacceptable their behavior is.

As a bit of catharsis, i started a short story where a pushy, overbearing asshole gets arrested for smacking his wife around, and the court appoints a big man to hang around the house and show him what it is like to be humiliated and afraid in his own home

i seriously wish i could react to the occasional bit of arrogance and self-righteousness with extreme violence, just to give people a clue that it isnt okay.

I certainly understand the anger, animosity, and frustration...Unfortunately, no matter what you do, it really won't make a difference...These type of people are really just too dense for anything to 'get through' to them...Besides, I have found that ignoring them and simply dismissing them tends to really piss them off more than anything you can say or do...I mean, it's obvious that they want some type of reaction out of you, or maybe they just REALLY need some attention (Surely you have noticed that the stupidest of them are the LOUDEST)...I simply refuse to give them what they want...Which allows me to watch THEIR anger, animosity and frustration build....It really IS funny...OH...And when they get to THEIR boiling point, you should see what they do when you LAUGH at their stupidity...hahaha...I swear, sometimes I think they're gonna explode...These type of people HATE to be reminded how insignificant they really are...It's hilarious:D :D :D

Congrats on the 3 months paid vacation, Vod.

Here's my boiling point reached this week: I'm in the middle of a move from the DC suburbs to a nicer area a few hours south. This move requires that I sell the place I'm living in, buy something new, and rent temporary housing in the meantime. That's a hefty chunk of change to lose in the short term (about an additional $800/month), especially when my new job will pay substantially less, but I figure it's worth it.

Except now my A/C died in the middle of this miserable 100-degree heatwave, and I've been without A/C for the past two weeks. The entire heat pump had to be replaced. $5,000.

Then last weekend, the brake system on my jeep died. $1,200. My warranty is supposed to cover things like this but--psyche!--not this time. Maybe. I don't know. I have to badger people with letters now.

In preparation for the move, my wife quit her job and went fulltime freelance. For her final paycheck, for a week's worth of work, her employer paid her just $9, citing a previously unknown policy regarding the taking of leave before it was earned.

And then two weeks ago a good friend of my family's slit his fucking wrists, killing himself a week before his son's graduation from high school.

And then my cat needed dental surgery. $400.

And then my internet developed a major problem this weekend. Unknown cost as of yet.

And then my publisher said that my book will probably be delayed because his a/c died and he doesn't have the money to pay the printer.

And then I had an allergy attack today, and yesterday my blood pressure tested as "pre-hypertensive," and then, and then, and then . . .
