I've been learning to play Expendable Youth by Slayer today on the bass. Been trying to write lyrics for a new song I've written too (not much progress tho  )

I'm currently writing an under-water themed instrumental, mixes rock, blues and electronica...why?...because lol...

I've got a link to some other stuff I've written if people are interested in it?

Themed yeah, its like...its an audio representation of a coral reef, its quite ambient.

It's not finished yet though.

Here are some finished tracks I've worked on:

Yeh I do spend most of my time writing new songs/riffs but have been trying to improve my technique and covers is a great way to do that. What happened to your band?

My band was too immature for being in a serious band. They're loss. Everything was going up hill and our future was looking real bright. Then 4/20 happen and drama, drama, drama happen. I am through with them

I truly believe in playing covers. Covers are the bases for understanding music and becoming a better musician. I shouldn't give up on learning covers...

It keeps you on your toes for sure. Have you got anyone interested in jamming with you and sussing out a band?

I have been playing for 4 years... I am burnt out. I have been thinking about recording my songs solo. Shit that you would probably HATE. Its like
better elliott smith and slow velvet underground. Some people might dig it at coffee shows and little clubs... I think

I got some people that I play with... but they are real "burnouts"... and they can't take anything serious. so its better not wasting my time. I want a band like Fugazi, were everyone is just as good as the next member. All equal

Yeh I probably would hate it, my heads just not in a place where that stuff does anything for me anymore. I was really into that sort of stuff a few years ago (loved Velvets, Palace Brothers, Sebadoh, Sonic Youth, Pavement, ect.) into but then living in a town like I do that kinda deal is totally overdone. Dunedin is really big on indie rock and had a great scene that brought out some amazing bands (The Clean, 3Ds, HDU, Chris Knox, Suka and The Aesthetics). Now the scene is really dirivative of that whole history. No there's half-assed indie rock, free noise bands and petentious cafe folk assholes. My band's pretty much broken up (if it hasn't it should be) because of slackness and unmotivation and creative differences..... which is kinda a pity because it could've been great but the time is right for it to end. I would've like to recorded a single (which still may happen). But I've been getting together a new band and have a bunch of shit written which will be more my thing.

Fugazi didn't just happen over night and you can't just jump into a band like that. They worked for years and years to be what they are. I you were doing as well as you say you were maybe you should try to work it out with them and try and settle your differences and come to some sort of understanding. But sometimes that just doesn't happen I guess. It's pretty testing being in a band at times and you need the right combination of people (especially personality wise) to make it work. Good luck with what you do anyways.

Well. come on, I wanna hear it now man. You gotta give me something. I won't be a douche bag. If you sound death metal, I won't be judgemental. I swear.

You gotta have a song

I'll mail you something once this new band is underway. It'll be more about the live preformance for a bit.

But I think it'll be awhile before my old band will do anything together again....

Sussed out a new song today with my new drummer. Fuck it rules I think its one of the best things I've ever written. Kinda like the band Dystopia - metal/punk styles.

Got real into some dirty ol' straightup Hardcore so I've been playing shit like that and combining it with some old school thrash metal punk shit. Messing with some solo accustic shit but I just sound like a drunk asshole because shoes that fit comfortably you wear them quite a lot.
